but paulie didnt cry up the storm that boxing is corrupt and they need to do something that he usually do that time. Paulie is everything that is wrong with boxing.

Shawn Porter has still got serious punching power! he just needs the correct opponent to show case it! Shawn Porter as a fighter could achieve allot more, if he learned how to implement straight punches into his fighting style more often. At elite level, you need to have a immense amount of variation in your shot selection, otherwise certain fighters will quickly decode your strategy.

Just look at James Degale's fight up against Badou Jack? Degale for all of his awkwardness and skills, is a very poor fighter when it comes to throwing straight punches......

Which is very strange, because usually straight punching technique is a fighting trait of a good amateur boxer!

You know what he trying to say. Boxingscene always do this stuff to anyone associated with Haymon or Floyd.

he still has the same amount of power, thing with porter is he isnt the most skillfull puncher. he tends to throw wide punches with minimal set up. he really just relied on his athletic ability and toughness for most of his career but at the highest level thats not enough.

i think a big part of it is he has been fighting bigger punchers himself. against paulie he could keep swinging those big shots and just maul and overwhelm him without any consequenses for being overly aggressive.

against brook, thurman and broner he couldnt do that. you could tell they all felt his power, but they could all make him feel their power right back and porter had to scale down the aggression. which was always what got guys out of there more so than sheer power, that pitbull style of fighting he employed earlier in his career.

without that tornado like onslaught his opponents can see his punches coming since as mentioned he isnt all that adept at setting up and delivering power punches in a crisp and thoughtful manner.

Malignaggi has lost every time he's stepped up. He lost to Hatton, Cotto, Khan, and Porter.

                Thoughts?
or he caught paulie cold like some fighters get. are you coming to one of those ****** conclusions that he was on PEDS?

It's about styles, Paulie always struggled with pressure fighters because he didn't had the power to gain their respect, against such a strong fighter as Porter, it was all wrong for Paulie.

He had absolutely no fear/worry of being hit with something, so he felt comfortable leaping in. Paulie has zero power and, for a good number of years now, his pop and speed are gone too. His jab used to have enough behind it to keep guys honest, not anymore. Porter just ran in and swarmed him.

Garcia could have done the same thing but played it safe and took his time.
