PBC fights are always better then they seem on paper

I was just thinking watching the fights last night that pbc cards are almost always bashed, granted it is an atmosphere created by boxing writers as a smear campaign sometimes even on gbp payroll directly or indirectly as we knew and are being confirmed by the gbp pbc case. But the point is that pbc cards seem to always deliver in the ring for the most part. Yes you have your prospects in overmatched fights thats a given but overall pbc cards are almost always entertaining and more competitive then they seem before hand.

I was also thinking that we know of so many more boxers that we wouldnt even know if it wasnt for pbc. so people *****ing about robert easterwouldnt even know who he was if it wasnt for pbc. Same goes with the prospects early in weekday cards we are getting to know fighters we wouldnt even know of otherwise for the most part.

what do you guys think though do you think the constant bashing of pbc cards is getting old when more times then not it turns out to be way more competitive or the underdog even wins?

I just feel we have created an atmosphere where its so hard for pbc to get a fair shake in every scenario not to mention were being cheated by boxing writers when it comes to pbc. whether or not you like pbc you should want the honest truth from boxing writers not a smear campaign.

    Always?

PBC bashing from most (not saying all) fans is/was due to Haymon having this massive stable and yet producing crappy match-ups. The last 3 years were miserable no matter what way you cut it. This year has been much better and the criticism has dropped off a lot.

This has always been my question. If not for PBC where would these fighters be fighting? HBO cut their budget and as we see with the fighters they choose to showcase they're going for a different demographic. Fights like Collazo v. Vasquez aren't worth of Shobox. So where would these fighters be fighting? And why are journalist against more work? They're covering boxing more now than ever before. Maybe they're lazy and don't want to work.

There's been some good. There's been some bad. Like boxing has been for the past hundred or so years. Much more good than bad. Nobody matches their prospects tougher than PBC. People like to ignore that and focus on the Lara-Foreman type cards. Funny how the Arum's and De La Hoya's of the world can marinate fights and build fights up but Haymon must put on tough fights every fight. Boxing has never been that way, ever!

Everybody crapped all over Matthysse vs Molina until Matthysse was put on his ass twice. Maybe people don't know as much about boxing as they think they do.

Arum got tons of **** when he was on top. The Pacquiao-Floyd thing meant people defended him in certain circumstances, and obviously there were shills too, but nobody was getting more abuse than him back when Top Rank's stable was as strong as anyone's.

Now Haymon is the top guy and he gets held to the same standards. You can't expect Top Rank and GBP to compete with Haymon for match-ups now. They don't have the fighters.

And people crapped on Bradley-Provodnikov and that was a fight of the year. There are surprises but in general a bull**** fight is a bull**** fight.

I think the smaller pbc cards like this have been better than their main Saturday night cards which are higher profile and seen by more people.

We all crap on cards a little too early. Perhaps we all need to just chill and just watch and try to enjoy it.

PBC is the best outfit in boxing by a mile. They have by far the most FOTY candidates and some of them are between guys we never would have heard of. Where else can Cruiserweights and featherweights get this type of exposure??

I think it goes a little deeper than that. Boxing fans only think highly of 2-3 fighters per division so if those 2-3 fighters don't fight, everything else is a crap fight. So these contenders who don't get the same exposure and opportunities fly under the radar.

I don't think others get crap on as much as PBC in the media, obviously people like GBP, Don King, Top rank etc work with the boxing media and give them privileges, which means less criticism when face with facts. PBC on the other hand are just putting out shows and letting the work speak for itself, they are NOT really ready to sweeting a fat dan or steve kim pockets for example, which means they get criticise more.

You cannot deny the fact that PBC in the small time they have been around gets more heat from the boxing media, you only have to look around here with some posters to see how they think mentally.

Since PBC have been around my Boxnation channel has been filled with MORE boxing over here in the UK, I say more power to them, I don't care who invest in them and i don't care who manages or promote them, if they putting fights on my TV (Good fights) then am all for it......Phuck the politics.
