Comments Thread For: Klitschko: I'd Be Too Old, Joshua Too Good If We Waited to Fight

NEW YORK If the timing doesn't seem quite right to you for Wladimir Klitschko to fight Anthony Joshua, the former heavyweight champion completely disagrees. Yes, Klitschko is coming off his first defeat in 11 years, a poor performance in a unanimous-decision defeat to England's Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) in November 2015. And sure, the 40-year-old Ukrainian won't have fought for 17 months by the time he enters the ring to challenge England's Joshua on April 29 at a sold-out Wembley Stadium in London.

This is the first time Wladimir Kiltschko has been the underdog for way over a decade! that type of environment can ignite something within a Champion...

True but if you don't have it anymore, you don't have it anymore. And he hasn't had it since he fought Pulev. He's actually been going downhill for a long, long time and only relying on his size to win like he did against Povetkin. Once he lost his size advantage, he has nothing else.

I think Wlad still has it. His power is still there. But ring rust is the biggest factor. I don't expect it to go the distance.

I agree, I see a Klitschko win IMO.

You know a fighter is truly getting old when he starts talking about it. The vast majority of these guys just don't think they're too old to fight.

I really don't see Wlad as the underdog.
