So where does Mikey Garcia rank already amongst...

the greatest Mexican-American boxers of all time as an undefeated, 3-division champion? What's his ceiling? Will be interesting to see how far he can go given his (relative) lack of athleticism (compared to other elite p-4-p 'ers)...

No, not yet. At this point, top 20 but he could still lower his ranks down to top 10. He's young and hungry, that passion still burns in him.

That midget that got schooled by Gallo Estrada is a joke. He just lost in his last fight, yet they gave it to him.
Mikey is fighting and knocking muhfahkers out. Not only that, but he is calling out EVERYBODY.

WAR the NEW #1 P4P CHAMP, Mikey.

I would have him 5-10, probably. You would want to see him in with someone truly elite before you put him any higher. Quite frankly jumping up in weight as he has is impressive physically because he has carried the power, speed, etc, but nowadays it doesn't really hold nearly as much weight. It is more important to fight and beat top quality. He has at the moment beaten good fighters, decent world champions, nothing more, nothing less.

To me Linares is the next logical step, again someone who is very good, but still not that TOP guy that is missing from his record, but certainly a step up. I expect him to take Linares out, possibly early.

The fights that are going to define Mikey are guys like Lomachenko and Crawford. If I was him, I would be gunning for Lomachenko - because to me Crawford is all wrong for him. I think Crawford shuts him out, which would be a bit soul destroying to see a fighter of Garcia's capability get totally shut down.

It's too early to tell how he ranks compared with all the great Mexican American boxers of the past. I think he is very athletic and I don't see that holding him back from greatness. If he can beat Loma that would be a huge win for him.
