Morales has fought some of the best fighters in the world. That shouldn't even be a question.

1999- Barrera wins by KO, but bout is turned to No-Contest/Exhibition after it is discovered that Najera is Barrera's sparring partner

      LOL, guys 2-1-1

What happened to Morales is one of the greatest Mexican ever? Now that he lost a few fights everybody is dissing him....people people people. His career ain't over yet...he'll prove like Barrera did that it's not over. (As long as he doesn't meet Pac again of course)

In Barreras whole career (66 fights), he has fought a total of 4 undefeated fighters, two (Hassem, Morales) with more than 4 fights.

Morales, has fought one undefeated fighter, who was 1-0 in 52 fights.

LOl so now you are basing you opinion on the legacy of Morales and Barrera on how many undefeated fighters they fought

Well, you can ask why, everytime, they've fought outside their little box, they've lost like Raheem,Pacman. and Barrera has yet to do anything at his new weight same as Jesus Chavez.

I think one would seriously have to question the boxing knowledge of anyone who would even question wether Morales is overrated.

He's only fought the best at a pace that would put to shame many fighters who today are being called great.

Sure morales is on his way out, he is past his prime and with good reason. Hes fought everyone and amassed a great record with the names of the whos who of boxing in the lower weights in only 9 years!! , so to question his resume which is easily one of the best in boxing today i dont think is very fair to him.

Morales had a better career and better competition than his other future HOF companions Pacquiao and Barrera.

Yea Morales has fought better competition than Barrera, plus add to that the fact that Morales has beaten both guys that MAB has lost to ( other than himself) at least once. However the "better career" part I have a hard time agreeing with because Barrera's dont seem to be over yet...Morales on the other hand seems to be on his way down. At the pace he's going MAB can possibly win another title at 135 which gives him one more edge on Erik, by the time MAB is officially done he could achieve more than Erik ever has, plus the fact he's beat Erik 2 out of 3 times. Dont get me wrong im a big Morales fan and i like him over MAB but this is just my honest assesment.

This thread sucks. I can't believe it's gotten this far and with people actually studying it. Morales has done and brought to boxing what many others can only dream of. He's fought the best, never ducked from anyone, and is the type of guy that will go down in legendary status in future boxing when people talk about Mexico's best. People should really stop trying to think about this too hard and just except who Erik is and will be remembered for already.
