Comments Thread For: Mosley: Chavez Jr. Not Easy, That's a Tough Fight For Canelo

Former three division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley believes Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs) is far from an easy opponent for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs). The two Mexican superstar will collide on Cinco de Mayo weekend, Saturday, May 6 in a twelve round battle to be contested at a catch-weight of 164.5 pounds. The event will be produced and distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View.

chavez will be dead at 164.5

canelo has this easy. it probably goes the distance but chavez is a human punching bag with poor stamina. canelo has decent enough size, decent power, fast hands, great defense and hes prime.

he will box chavez ears off and he has the power to hurt him as well. maybe not stop him, depends on how drained he is, but definitely the power and accuracy to keep him from just charging in.

Is canelo not better today than old martinez was back when they fought? how do people see chavez winning.

Son of Martinez will stop Canelo late and raise his hand in victory then they rematch and he'll do it again!

After those 2 fights he'll call out Golovkin to fight him at 168 in which Son of Sanchez will kindly decline in favor of still chasing a now battered and a bit war torn Canelo for that cash out check!

                You Want War!

I'm glad they made this fight because I don't think it was going to still be there to be made if they had waited another year.
I've wanted to see this one for awhile now, the timing obviously isn't perfect but it's still good. It also moves Canelo in the right direction as far as his weight.

I think Canelo is going to be a lot faster. But if he gets caught with the kind of shot JCC Jr. laid on Martinez in their round 12- it will be very telling what Canelo's chin is made of.

I think JCC Jr. still has enough advantage through his size to make something work, though I don't know he'll be able to straight up bully Canelo around. I expect to see some speedy and sharp shots from Canelo early, similar to Martinez but Canelo will plant his feet down more and put a little more on them. He won't be dancing around like Sergio was.

It's not the best fight but this is still a very intriguing and obviously very big fight. Good for boxing.

Hopefully mosley ability to pick fights is better than his ability to pick women. The guy has the worst judgment of character ever.
