Why did Vargas' corner let that happen to him? That was an Azz Whoopin'!!! Vargas shouldn't fight until at least December! He's a warrior, but has no defense, and he will be seriously damaged if he keeps fighting these kind of fights!

Vargas just got a career ending beating for a fraction of the money.

As for the cuts no doubt that will be a major issue the rest of his career needs to see a surgeon to try and remove those scar tissues. But I thought gatti career was finished in 1998 because of cuts and swelling issues. He went on to fight for almost a decade longer, won another world title and gave boxing one of the greatest trilogy of all time AFTER everyone said his the end his career because of cuts and face blowing up issue.
Hyperion is right. Salido manager is clowning Vargas manager for making that fight. He's busted up, lost his belt, and now Salido fight is gone. And he did it all for a fraction of the money. If this had happened to him while fighting Salido for a bunch of money then that's cool. He can take a long break and decide if he wants to fight again. I'm sure he'll be back because he's a warrior but heart won't stop those cuts from opening.

Regardless of the cut Miguel winning in would have had the decision clearly which surprised me... after so many easy fights in Mexico he really stepped up for this and I congratulate him ...will be a very popular fighter and Peepee view unfortunately no free TV but good for him..

Berchelt is the real deal. Lots of potential.. and it'd be nice to what he does next.

This is for the idiots that always say that just because someone hasn´t had many fights in the US, he´s a bum. Berchelt is the real deal, defeated clearly a great fighter like Vargas. Berchelt is from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, a region that historically has produced many world champions.

Great cards from Vegas to Indio. Thank God we had Mexican fighters on both cards. Vargas, Berchelt, Roman, Mikey Garcia, et al. Asians and Eastern Europeans are also fan friendly. No racism here but no one wants to watch boring Rigondeaux, Lara, Mayweather, Trout, et al.

Just watched this fight.. Vargas' corner was so used to hit being in wars that they just let it go. Should have stopped it way earlier. That cut is going to need a year to heal. Vargas needs to take a year or two off, come back for a big money fight then retire.

Berchelt has power but not much else.. leaves himself wide open when throwing and has mediocre defense when he doesn't. Not too impressed.
