I still think that Gamboa can have some success left, not as much as his talent might have suggested, but i think there hasn't been a cuban under a good management in the history of post revolution cuban boxing, so there isn't a path for cuban boxers to follow in the pro game.

Given that golden boy has such a limited roster, they should be monitoring the dude constantly

Depends on what your definition of "some success" is. He is done IMO.

Who here is surprised? SMH What a waste of talent. Roach doesn't give high praise like this lightly for years calling him his next superstar, saying he didn't even like letting pacman spar him. Yet time after time he shoots himself in the foot with his trainer, his promoter. I feel like this will have a tragic end because the kid don't get it and is wasting his talent and life. He blew a HBO spot on the undercard of canelo/kirkland. Blew fights because of weight, not training, partying too much. Then got another shot on undercard of canelo/khan and dominated Herrera. His talent is there for the world to see and then goes AWOL?

He needs a new trainer Roach has too many fighters and isn't at the stage to baby sit anyone. Get him a trainer who doesn't have so much going on in his life and can keep tabs on him. Golden Boy likely going to drop him and give these opportunities to someone else and years from now when he's broke in the gutter maybe he'll realize what he threw away.

Cant keep a fighter active when he is constantly over weight, not showing up to training, this is not the first time his trainer or promoter has said we can't find him. Other young fighters who he was ahead in the pecking order at Golden boy are fighting constantly. Look at Jojo Diaz and all the hbo fights and how he is in position to get a title shot this year. Look at diego, Ronnie rios, ect. They all active because they are hungry and focused fighters.

Waste of Talent! GBP should have invested on this kids life as far as keeping him busy than just making fighters sign their souls away! I have no Idea why ronny rios still at GBP after how skandelous they've done him! To the homie pitbull truchas cause the streets is a mutha!

Both Jose Benavidez and Gomez have been disappointments.

Good thing David Benavidez seems to be more professional.
