He's actually interesting in that I think his pro career in the 90s was the last example of honest to God, indisputable fixed fights appearing on TV in boxing, at least in America.

      Mickey Rourke on sparring Duran:

" remember one time I'd been sparring with him in Miami ahead of one of his fights and I was kind of having my way with him "

      source http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/4589951.stm

I know its only sparring but sounds like Mickey did a number on him, must have been a humbling experience for hands of stone.

The real question is, was he good enough to beat the Mexican mickey rourke?

tremendous skills, and simply an outstanding physique and punching power.

This is the reason why mickey went into acting i heard, just look at this beast

Mickey was legitimately a tough guy, he knew some basics and did spar with a lot of well known guys but no one took cheap shots at him because they liked him.
He is a bit wacky carrying his "boxing career" this far but he isn't hurting anyone, literally!

How do you dominate somebody you have paid off?

I remember hearing about prime Rourke, the gym wars he had with Stallone and De Niro are legendary. He was a maestro and a brawler, a fleet footed tip tapper and a in your face left hooker.

He coulda been somebody, he coulda been a contender.

Mickey has quite the eccentric collection of hairpieces...he wore this one to a kickboxing tournie last summer in Saint Tropez. Probably not one of his best selections...some of his fights even looked more real than that hairpiece.
