In fact, the evidence suggests that it is Golden Boy, not Defendants, that has refused to deal with the Haymon En****** during the pendency of this lawsuit. Indeed, in May 2015, Robert Diaz (Golden Boy’s matchmaker) received a suggestion from the manager of then Golden Boy-promoted heavyweight, Luis Ortiz, to try to place Mr. Ortiz in a bout that is featured within a PBC show. Mr. Diaz responded, “Are you serious? You do know we have sued Haymon right?”.

Golden Boy has been lying all this time.

To support the existence of a tie, Plaintiffs primarily rely on certain informal, vague, and hearsay conversations that Golden Boy’s President, Eric Gomez, had with several boxers and/or their representatives in 2015 about potential promotion deals with Golden Boy. Tellingly, Plaintiffs never deposed any of these boxers to explore the details of these conversations.
that was clearly AFTER the lawsuit. But what about BEFORE the lawsuit? That was their beef Haymon was cutting other promoters out and buying up time buys that prevented networks working with other promoters. This lawsuit is what forced Haymon to drop that from the TV contracts. My point is simple early 2015 when Haymon made his power play how he operated then and how he has been operating since 2016 AFTER there is unquestionably been a huge shift. He's working with other promoters more, producing LESS PBC fights on network and cable tv (showtime fights don't really count) he dropped his contract forcing Networks to not work with other promoters as part of his settlement with Top Rank (which was a carbon copy after Golden Boy). Whether this was a byproduct of the Golden Boy lawsuit or a byproduct of PBC struggling or a mixture of both it's clear PBC losing as much money as they did and not having the influence everyone thought it would HELPED to hurt the Golden Boy lawsuit. And Haymon sending 2 of his fighters to Golden Boy for huge PPVs that made them a ton of money (Khan, Chavez) and dropping TV Deal blocker that gave Golden Boy the contract with ESPN also hurt their case.

The judge basically said PBC is not going to put you promoters out of business look how bad they have performed and lost money and whether Haymon got scared of the lawsuit or because PBC was failing he is forced to let guys like Chavez go fight for Golden Boy Promotions where according to Chavez Golden Boy is taking 80% of the money and Haymon only taking a small flat fee out of Chavez's purse. Same lopsided deal for Golden boy like the Khan fight. If you told Golden Boy early 2015 when people predicted a takeover with PBC that after their lawsuit they will get Haymon to drop clause in tv deal to give them a ESPN deal and he would give them Khan and Chavez to make millions off of but they would lose the lawsuit I think they would of taken that deal. And as I said I could care less if Golden Boy gets millions off Khan/Chavez or get a lawsuit settlement from Haymon it ain't going in my pocket. But the sport of Boxing is BETTER off today with Haymon working with other promoters and not blocking them from TV deals. Hell showtime is better today Haymon is forced to give them better fights which is what we are seeing right now. I hope Golden Boy and Haymon now continue working together after Chavez they were both at their best when they do. I like to think there is too much money for both sides to ignore

Or maybe Haymon was just playing possum with PBC to win the lawsuit and that's the reason he sacrificed a few paydays by sending them Khan and Chavez and they won't work together no more. LMAO

Greatly enjoying the prime Deion Sanders/Darelle Revis level of backpedalling around here.

      Hilarious.

The reasoning used in this argument is baffling. Just let it go. It's kind of sad really. I truly don't understand this fandom that is attached to supporting these promoters (Top Rank and GoldenBoy) who have clearly harmed fighters for a while.

The judgement clearly stands on more than the PBC's success (or lack thereof) in dismissing this case. It merely sites that and the TV deal as two of several reason why the case was bogus.

I like how you didn't address the corrupt practice of using a 33% manager fee coming out of the fighter's purse, while the manager is essentially working for the promoter.

This is the reason why Al Haymon became so influential in the first place. The fighters were being taken advantage of by the "legitimate promoters" (Top Rank and GoldenBoy) for years.

The lawsuit dealt with the covered period. The covered period is the period Oscar said he began to incur damages from PBC, which was Jan 2015. The whole lawsuit dealt with everything that happened from Jan 2015 until the ruling. Read the ruling. I'm not going to go back and forth with you when you're saying the opposite of the guy who had all the evidence. If there were any damages to Oscar during the covered period beginning Jan 2015 the judge would've allowed it to go to trial. Do you even realize this never made it to trial. The judge said get this mess out of my courtroom, a jury will never side in your favor. Stop wasting everybody time. Remember the judge also threw out Top Rank's first lawsuit and told them to amend it. And Top Rank was smart enough to realize they didn't have a case and pulled out before the discovery phase put their shady practices in the light. The only thing we've learned from this lawsuit is that Golden Boy are the ones who better be careful.

“[Golden Boy has] been unable to present any evidence of harm to competition. Instead, [Golden Boy has] merely presented evidence of harm to themselves.” Those words from U.S. District Judge John Walter sounded the death knell for Golden Boy’s antitrust case against boxing manager and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) creator Al Haymon.

Unfortunately, pretty much all the hate is for non-boxing reasons. Shame really.
