thats not the gist. a fight fan shouldnt be making bold statements and declaring a guy is the goat until that guy proves it.

Can't argue with that...if anyone is saying he's the goat. There's a difference between that and being excited by a fighter. For a segment of fans, my guy can beat your guy is part of the fun of following the sport. It's why a lot of casuals tune into fights and become fans.

even in hypothetical fights, youll see fan boys hyping their hero when theres no proof that that guy being as great as his is/was.

Yea it's true. I'm more of a general fan of the sport than of particular fighters, but I'm not gonna fault anyone for just following one fighter...it's part of what allows fighters to earn a living.
