  • Comments Thread For: Froch Jabs Amir Khan: 70-30 Demand To Fight Brook is 'Ridiculous'

Retired super middleweight champion Carl Froch is shaking his head at the crumbled negotiations to stage a May fight between IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) and Bolton star Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs). Earlier this week, the negotiations fell apart between the two camps, after Khan stood firm on a 70-30 monetary split to do the fight with Brook - who was looking for something that was more in line of an even 50-50.

The only thing that keeps glass jaw any where near the news is being ridiculous, it must run in the family!

Khan is only prepared to take 70% for getting koed. That's the price he's putting on it and you can t begrudge kjhan that, getting koed time after time is scary.
So the ball is in brooks court. For the chance to ko khsan four 30% can brook live with that? How badly does he want it?

Yeah 70-30 is ridiculous, 80-20 is probably more fair. lol who the hell is kell brook? Anywhere away from London he's unknown...Khan is the Money fight + now when he eventually comes down to 60-40 it looks like they were the ones trying to make the fight

You are talking drivel, anyone who follows boxing knows who Brook is.

Amir Khan is the draw no question about it, he deserves no lower than 55-45 share of the pie but 70-30 is a bit too greedy but could be done if Brook welcomes it. I just think Amir deserves to have the bigger part of the pie because everybody buys tickets and pay per view to watch him get KOed. Everybody owes it to him.

Brook should take it, Khan can **** off elsewhere and still pull in millions, Kell won't pull ****.

Khan has only managed one payday in the last couple of years for those millions (Canelo), he's been waiting for that 'elsewhere' to pull in those millions (Mayweather/Pac) for years. So not sure what options Khan has for a payday.

Pretty spot on that Khan is just just selling his chin to the highest bidder now. Anyone who wants a Khan KO on their resume got to pay for it.

Brook still has some work to do to make a bigger name for himself, and there lies his problem as if staying at 147, he needs to go beat Spence and winner of Thurman/Garcia, THEN he will be a name that can start to make demands. But its very unlikely he will beat Spence and/or winner of Thurman/Garcia, adn there's his problem.

If he goes to 154, he will need a high profile name to start making an impact. He can go Liam Smith in the UK, but that fight wouldn't grow his name outside the UK, and there are a lot of tough fights at 154, so he could lose any number of them
