There's no value in debating which wins are B- or C+'s.

          This!!

Stiverne got a vacant belt by beating Arreola, a fighter he had already beaten before!

At best Stiverne is at Lemieux's level. Murray, Geale and maybe even Macklin are all better than him.

Stiverne is garbage. He has never been anything special.

Hell, he'd be lucky to have ever been a top 10 heavyweight.

I said it before and I'll say it again, even Whyte would beat him.
maybe but he's still a better win than g string has.

Never understood why people rank Stiverne so high. His only remotely good win was against Chris Arreola.

Chris Arreola was never good. Lost all his big fights, had a couple wins against bums after he lost to adamek and of course lost as soon as he stepped up against Stiverne.

Stivernes resume before the Arreola fight? Nothing to see.
The only recognisable name is Ray Austin. Also a washed up guy and he trailed on 2 scorecards against him. lol

The argument that he was ranked #3 at the time is also ******.

At the end of 2012 Stiverne wasnt ranked in the top 10, Arreola was still #9.
In 2013 Stiverne only had a win against Arreola, nothing else, and somehow he shoots up to #4.
In 2014 he won the rematch against Arreola and switched place with Adamek, because he lost against Glazkov.

The fact that Adamek was ranked #3 at heavyweight is a strong indicator for how weak the weighclass was at the time.

Now to Golovkin. The guy has no signature win, but he has a couple of decent wins, some of them better than Stiverne.

Geale - #3 at the time, Unified champion. Wins against long time champ Sturm, Mundine, Karmazin, Sylvester
Murray - #6 Middleweight, should have a win against Martinez and Sturm was really close fight = ability to fight on par with the other top guys.
Lemieux - #4 at the time, IBF champion. Wins against N'Dam & Rosado

the brook win is weakened by the fact that he jumped 2 weight classes, but p4p brook is much better than stieverne.

I dont rate Macklin, but even he was #6 at the time against Golovkin.

So in terms of singular wins, wins against Geale and Macklin should rate above Stiverne. The win against Lemieux was on par with Stiverne.

                1. Skillset
                2. Beat Porter when Porter was considered a top contender and only lost to GGG (p4p king). How many fighters ceased to elite after they lost to Floyd? If we didn't rate JMM, Maidana, DLH, Hatton lower, we aren't going to rate Brook lower just because he lost to the best. There are levels.

Top ten middleweights like Geale, Murray, Macklin, Lemieux and Stevens. They were all highly ranked when Golovkin beat them....and he beat them in emphatic fashion.

I like Wilder. I think he's better than a lot of these haters believe but right now Golovkin has done a lot more than him. Wilder has lots of ability and potential though. I won't be surprised to see him win some big fights in the future. Hopefully he'll step up and face better competition ...then we can give him the credit that he'll deserve.

I'm going to check out that fight.
If it's true that Stiverne was behind on the cards against Ray Austin ...then Stiverne really is mediocre.
