  • Comments Thread For: Loeffler Says Chocolatito-Cuadras Rematch is Still Very Possible

BoxingScene.com spoke with Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, about the addition of former WBC 115-pound titlist Carlos Cuadras (35-1-1, 27 KOs) to the March 18th lineup at the Madison Square Garden - that features the middleweight main event between unified champion Gennady Golovkin and mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs.

        No rematch needed........

It was a good competitive fight with ebb and flow. However Chocolatito won 8 rounds to 4 so if they don't fight again it's not a big deal to me and really no need for an immediate rematch. Maybe somewhere down the line because it wasn't a controversial win. I like Cuadras but winning 4 rounds doesn't warrant a rematch.

Its gunna happen, just the money isn't there at the moment, why else would they be putting them both on the same card together, building towards their own headline card.

Don't be a hater. GGG is fighting #2 in the division next, then rumors are the last beltholder in June, then your boy Canelo in September, then 168 in December or next year, or any big fights that come along (if Lara clears out 154, if Jermall Charlo is ready to fight someone his size by then, etc).

So I mean, you can criticize GGG's past years opposition if you want, as long as you point out it wasn't his fault, but you're really going to criticize this year? If the matchups get made this year and GGG wins them, he will have the best year any boxer has had in a decade. And unlike most boxers, GGG is risking maybe the hardest guy first, Jacobs. The longest, fastest, most athletic guy with very good power. That's already signed... so you crazy if you still criticizing GGG.
