I believe he's talking about "Cystic Acne". Your skin is extrememly sensitive and swollen for most part. That's horrible and can only be treated with the right medication. Medication that can make you tired, weak and is painful. If you're a pro boxer and have that kind of severe acne it must be diffcult. Also the psychological effects of acne. Walking around in public with nasty acne all over your face must be quite hard.

I used to have cystic acne. The medications work but they leave a lot of side effects.

I can also think of Cuadras. He had a lot of acne but it has cleared since he used something similar to Isotretinoin (I can only assume). Fortunately for him the side effects doesn't look that bad though you can see he has now thin hair compared to before.

The article says he's been out of the ring since last april because of acne. Which could be true but fails to mention that for some of that time he couldn't fight because he was banned for steroid use. I think that info is relevant.

In response to public comments made by Tyson and Hughie Furys' representatives, UK Anti-Doping can confirm that both boxers were charged on 24 June 2016 with presence of a Prohibited Substance. Mandatory Provisional Suspensions were imposed pursuant to Article 7.9.1 of the UK Anti-Doping Rules.
