Comments Thread For: Shinsuke Yamanaka Ready For Twelfth WBC Defense on March 2

A riveting presser in Tokyo, officially announcing the return of the unbeaten Japanese southpaw WBC bantamweight world champion Shinsuke Yamanaka on March 2nd. He will be matched against Mexican contender Carlos Carlson in the twelfth defense of the WBC crown he conquered in 2011 in Tokyo by defeating Christian "Italian" Esquivel.

Yamanaka's without doubt #1 @ 118Lb, but if he's really to make a name for himself then he's going to have to fight outside of Japan once in a while!

Bum opponent but Yamanaka earned a softy with a lot of solid opponents the past couple of years. Wish McDonnell or Warren would make a challenge to the clear #1 at 118 but they are probably just happy that he's getting old

He'll never get a world wide fan base unless he fights outside of Japan, more people know Tomoki Kameda. Yamanaka is a lurker at the threshold, an obscure threat, regardless of his quality. Haskins can probably outrun him in the UK, but we'll never know.
