Myself, Boxers, & Paulie vs Cotto!

This is a 2part story. This is part 1. Its long but interesting!

I made a thread after the Hatton fight saying how I think that the Malinaggi fight could be just like the Hatton fight but it got sent to another post because I guess there were too many topics at the time. Ill come back to this in a second.

Im 6ft 225 with a strong build. Some say I look like 50 cent. With that size, I have always been a power guy. Whenever I fight, I try to knock you out. My fighting style is exactly like Tyson's. No, Im not some groupie that tries to fight like a particular guy. Thats how I was born. Many people think that is a taught style but I think for the most part, it comes natural to some guys. I have always been a guy who dips and uses that peek-a-boo style since I was a kid. Joe Frazier was probally born with it also. Ill throw a combo and dip and then throw another combo. Im also like Oscar in that Im a righty but I fight southpaw. Dont get this confused guys, Im not a fighter. Im just talking about regular street fighting or messing around.

Now with all that, you would think that I would be bias towards KO artist but Im not. For some reason, when I watch boxing I have always loved pure boxers. I think boxing is a art and if you master it then you can compete with anyone. Thats why I loved Floyd since the 1st time I saw him only like 8 fights in his career. I said from then that he would be my favorite fighter and I think he would be the best. As it got later in his career, all my friends were liking guys like Mosley & Tito but I always liked Floyd and I use to say that Floyd was better then them but they thought I was crazy.

Back to the boxers thing. I knew that Hatton would have alot of problems because Callazo is a masterful boxer. I love guys like him, Floyd, Toney, and yes Paulie. Ive made threads on this forum way back when Paulie was a nobody and I was the only guy who liked him. Everyone hated him, his mouth, and his fighting style but I just loved it. I use to compare him to Sweet Pea but everyone said I was dumb.

I still stand by what I said. I think Paulie will give Cotto trouble. Ive noticed that some have started to aggree with me after Paulie's last fight. Some have started to like him and think he's pretty good but I can tell that most of the guys who picked him over Cotto are just picking him because they want to look cool if its a upset or they dont like Cotto.

    PART 2

People on here use to say that I was crazy and that Cotto would walk right through Paulie. They said that Paulie has only fought bums and doesnt have any power to hold Cotto off but I would tell them that this is boxing and then I would go back to the art of it. You dont have to have power if you master the art of it. Paulie's No Mayweather but he truly knows how to box, hit and not get hit. Someone on here again after the Hatton fight ripped me for saying it but its nothing new to me. I was bragging on Paulie over 2 years ago when no one thought anything of him.

Heres a thread I made back in Novemember of 04. I had already made other threads before then but this is only how far back my profile allows me to go. You guys can just read what I said back then. Dont read much of the responses because it turned into a arguing match between me and this racist that use to be on these boards. He had one of those "black face dolls" on his avater and I didnt approve of it. At the bottom of the thread I said even back then I would pick Paulie to beat Hatton right now and would give Cotto alot of trouble.

Before you go crazy, you guys have to remember that this was before Hatton did anything big and had just come off a fight with Michale Stewart and Cotto had just beat a tough guy in N'Dou, so thats why I gave Cotto a better chance but even after a good win like that I still said that Paulie would give him fits and would beat him in another year. I didnt have Gatti on there at the time because I was just talking about young guys but I had already made threads saying that I thought he would easily beat Gatti. What are your thoughts?

I give this fight to malignaggi too.
People are underrating his power. Just because he's feather fisted doesn't mean Cotto can 'walk through his shots' - if Malignaggi puts his jab in Cottos face all night, there is NO DOUBT that Cotto will feel that ****. A punch is still a punch, and it hurts, even though it might not jar your senses, doesn't mean you can 'walk through it'. Cottos not exactly got the most solid chin - i mean, it's decent, and he recovers, but he'll be feeling those lightning jabs.

Paulie needs to work on conditioning, and build up his body. Cotto likes going to the body, and Malignaggi will need to take some shots to the body.

If malignaggi fights a smart fight, which he will, i think he'll win. I'm willing to bet on it.

Good question and I dont really know. This isnt a Margarito situation because Margarito is a champ with a bad reputation. Most people just think Paulie is a big mouth punk who hasnt done anything and will get killed by Cotto. Maybe there right. I knew littile Floyd was a genius when I 1st saw him. Im not sure Paulie is that and he might just be garbage all together but I love his skill.

With that being said, I just remembered about his last fight and it was so strange. Ive been high on Paulie for a long time and others thought he ****** but in his last fight I thought he got hit too much and didnt look as good but that was the same fight that others started to like him and think he was good. Go figure.

Your question about Cotto is a strange one in that you must mean that I dont give Cotto that much credit now but I do. I think he's a great talent that is somewhat flawed and has been mishandled by his managers and trainers. I still will give him a chance to beat nearly anyone out there.

So I will actually answer your question in a way that might be backwards. If Cotto blows him out then I wont give him much credit because that will mean that Paulie just flat out ****** but if he gives Cotto problems like I think he will then I will actually give Cotto alot of credit for that. Alot of people will probally come on here and say that Cotto sucks for having a hard time with this guy but I will say that the kid is a great boxer and better then you think. Does that make sense?

Yeah as to why I asked I dont think youve given cotto his due,and yeah youve been very high on paulie.I agree on that second point, but I mean more his trainers who I dont think are up for the job of improving cotto ,or breaking his bad habits.

Yeah I get what youre saying.

as for your first point, does that mean you give Cotto credit for beating Chop(someone who I personaly would consider better than paulie),who hurt cotto,or no?

Personally I dont think paulie is that good, regardless of the fact that I like cotto, its not about that, for me,say if cotto where to get beat by Pauile,Id really have to question cotto's future beacuse plain and simple I dont think paulie is very good. Not on Cotto's level at least.

Hell yeah I give Cotto credit for Chop. You probally dont remember before that fight but I was on here telling everyone that Chop would give Cotto problems and that he is so underrated. I know Chop and live by him. I was telling everyone that people act like he sucks just because he lost to the best fighter in the world and too Zab who at that time was also one of the elites. I definatly know Chop's skills.

On your point about Paulie. Someone said something similar to that in the thread I made back in 04 and I said that I can completely understand that. He hasnt done anything or beaten anyone for anyone to be impressed by and again, I may just be a littile bias because I love boxers but this kid is a very silky boxer and I think he has something. Add to that his swagger and the fact that he's undefeated I think he will give Cotto problems.

When your undefeated and ****y like him then you really dont believe you can lose. Even if he had one lost and was the same exact fighter, it would be a littile different but this kid will be very confident and I think him being in the ring with Callazo and watching that fight will help him. I think he wants to be on that big stage and thinks that he can do the same thing that Callazo did to Hatton.
