Why Does Froch say Eubank Jr. gives Golovkin a tough fight?

The Cobra states work rate. Is the Cobra tight with the Eubank's? UK Bias?

Probably due to their sparring sessions, where Eubank Junior really pushed Froch!

For me personally i am beginning to retract from my statements that Eubank Junior beats Golovkin. Eubank Junior is deficient in punching force and at elite level, up against guys like Golovkin who are redounded for their toughness? it will make his task of beating Golovkin very difficult.

Punching power is Eubank Junior's Achilles heel. Other than that? he has all the attributes to beat Golovkin, so he still has a chance.

I think Froch did a fair bit of sparring with Eubank Jr and thinks he's good.

To be fair to Froch he's sticking his neck out a bit. The Eubanks' are pariahs at the minute. Nobody is boxing circles it seems is prepared to say anything remotely positive about them!

Yeah I remember in his first 10 or so fights he actually looked like somewhat of a non-puncher. He couldn't shift some fairly limited men.

That said he seems to have found a way to stop people now albeit at not too high a level. I suppose he is more relaxed and comfortably in there now.

I think he has just matured slightly since then, and he has great offensive punching technique! i.e turning into punchers, and rotation of his core....

Makes you wonder how hard guys like Ali used to hit, or Sugar Ray Robinson! as they had knocked guys out moving backwards! I just think Eubank Junior as a specimen is lacking muscular strength! and i am not sure there us much he can do about it, as he seems to be doing all the right things in training.

Be interesting to see what his power is like at 168.

Very strange statement considering jr almost killed Blackwell.

Jr fights well off the ropes. He's certainly more durable than Kell Brook. If Brook was able to take Golovkin's body shots without a kd, I don't see why Eubank would get bothered. I say Eubank goes for 12.

He's unorthodox with good reflexes and one of the best uppercuts in the division. What punch is Golovkin most vulnerable to? The uppercut. Eubank could be Fury to Golovkin's Klishtko.

I got a funnier one for you. What if Jr. abandons flurry work rate and just boxes from the inside ala Mayweather shoulder roll.

Like the schooling Broner did to Khabib. Everybody said Khabib was gonna knock out Broner.

There is nothing strange about my statement.....

Eubank Junior struggles to hurt or even move people with single shots! he does his damage to fighters with the accumulation. Chris Eubank Junior has near perfect punching technique, even when his implements correct rotation into his hooks and transfers his core weight behind all of his punches? he still only stuns the large majority of his opponents! and this is bad news for him at elite level as his career progresses.....

At elite level, when you land your power punches! they need to profoundly deter your opponents! if you cannot achieve this desired result upon your opponents? you better make sure you are powered an Arc Reactor! you know the same kind of thing Iron Man's suit is powered by! because you are going to be shifting allot of punches and expending allot of energy......

(James Degale for example is another fighter, who is also deficient in punching power! and it's one of the reason as to why all of his fights at elite level have life and death type of fights)....

So yes! Eubank Junior is deficient in punching power, anybody who analyzes boxing is vividly aware of this! even deep down his father understands this, and that is why he was being advised to shift more body shots against Nick Blackwell during their fight.

Nick Blackwell during their contest never once took a backwards step! and this mode of brave fighting lead to his injuries. Prolonged beatings actually pose a higher risk of causing brain injuries, or any type of physiological injury. That is why fighters become punch drunk, after years of fighting! and they don't suddenly become punch drunk after one fight!

(But Hopefully at 168, his punching power has improved! maybe he is drained slightly at 160 who knows? because from a training perspective both technically and physiologically, Eubank Junior does all the right things during camp!)....
