I reallyyyy hope Alvarez doesn't become this defensive beta like Floyd as his career proceeds. I mean here's an almost 180lb light middleweight with power in both hands and from what we can tell a granite chin. The idea he would play counter puncher and try to be cute slipping punches from Cotto kind of pisses me off. I really feel like for Canelo to be as great as he is being billed as, fighting at the prime of his career, he should be getting taking guys out of there. Especially Cotto.

I will love this fight if Canelo plays the relentless destroyer he can be. Really giving JCC Jr the goods every time he makes a mistake. If it turns out to be Jr walking him down while Canelo counters, runs and resets or holds...I'll be pissed

Sounds like you will be pissed. If Canelo was afraid of really attacking and KOing Cotto like he should have, being probally 20 pounds heavier, just imagine how defensive he will be vs. Chavez Jr. who is a giant compared to little Cotto.

Guys, guys...remember, Canela weighs around 180 on fight night...this is nothing new... the difference this time is that he'll be fighting a bigger guy on the night of the fight...I like that Chavez and his team are being very positive about this fight...I believe ...war Chavez!!!

I know right? I feel like I should just accept what will probably transpire. Canelo's only saving grace for not tearing guys apart and getting them out of there is he might have terrible stamina. But still nothing is more annoying than when Canelo only gives about 10% of work, and slips and slides around punches from light welterweights like he's some prodigy. News flash, he should have the mindset to runnover these smaller guys. Can you imagine how pathetic it would look if James Toney killed himself staying at 160, and then pranced around being overly defensive against guys the likes of Cotto? And then winning a narrow UD? It's only impressive when the defensive & offensive rolling is against guys your size or larger. With the Cotto, the overly cautious attitude just looks silly.
