Why does Bellator get love on ESPN and not boxing?

Bellator is not even the main MMA organization and ESPN is showing results of the fights.

But Badou Jack-James DeGale couldn't get a mention. Why don't the big fights get a blurb on Sportscenter?

It seems unless you're Floyd, Manny or Canelo Sportscenter don't care.

Did Kovalev-Ward even get a mention on Sportscenter?

I'm from the UK but I know Ward Kovalev got mentioned numerous times on Sporrscenter. I remember Steven A Smith and Max Kellerman doing a 20 minute piece on it. Same thing happened after the fight they discussed if the decision was controversial or not.

Cuz Bellator is a structured high level MMA league that makes sense to cover in a lesser way than the UFC by ESPN.

Boxing on the otherhand is a huge clusterf#ck of confusion. Who's champion? Who's in the top ten realllllllly? Where are the competitive fights? Where are the big fights? Boxing is too circus-y for ESPN to cover more than they do. Its like another formerly hugely popular sporting event, horseracing, that only gets talked about pretty much during triple crown season cuz its ran like a circus too outside of those big events. Boxing needs to catch up with the times & people who give a f#ck about boxing need to create some elite league of boxers who are looking to build boxing & put boxing first like the NFL puts football first, the NBA puts basketball first & etc & so on with all the primary leagues for damn near every sport.

Same reason they cover soccer. MMA is a rising sport. Boxing is a dead sport.

Bellator's fight last night was all about tito ortiz. He's a big reason why the ufc/mma scene really took off. It was his final fight. Not surprised that espn covered it

They also employ Chael Sonnen.. Sure he lost but that still is worth the PR to give him the time to talk about it and people remember Tito Ortiz if they're my age or older still.

PBC has a series on ESPN. And now Golden Boy.

I actually figure when PBC got on ESPN they'd feature boxing on Sportscenter more.
