Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto: Juan Manuel Marquez Fight is Very Viable

Former four division world champion Miguel Angel Cotto of Puerto Rico is not ruling out the possibility of a fall showdown with fellow four time world champion Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico. Considered to be two of the best Latin American fighters in recent years, Cotto and Marquez had already tried to negotiate a fight in 2016, but they were never able to reach an agreement on some of the details - specifically the catch-weight.

Both guys have to be reasonable nice ppv fight Mexico vs Puerto Rico. 150 fair catch weight. Cotto not 147 in years. Marquez heaviest was against Floyd and it was horrible he was too slow reflexes off I think it was proposed 154-155. Another classic Floyd cherry pick scam.

They have two of the coolest styles of their generation. It would have been amazing to see them go against each other at one point. Now though, Cotto probably won't go any lower than 152/153, and JMM is basically retired. It's hard to be optimistic about it being a great fight.

Correction huge Floyd scam Marquez coming up from years at 135. Catch weight was 144 max. Marquez came in 142. Floyd came in 146 probably hydrated up to 155-157. Floyd had to pay huge fine couple hundred grand. Marquez took it as he could use that big $ for him Floyd played him 200,000 plus nothing to him. New higher weight against bigger version of best fighter since ray leaonard was too much. Moving forward So years of 147 150 doable a little more rice and whey protein meals and shakes. Nice fight I like cotto
