Was Matthysse-Provodnikov a draw?

I think I personally have it a draw. Even though at the time I wanted to see it 7-5 because I'm a Lucas' fan, I think I have Ruslan winning the last 5 rounds. He finished much better. Maybe I'm wrong, haven't watched the fight since more than one year ago.

That's using the boxing score system. If I look at punishment, I can see that the rounds won by Lucas were more clear than the ones won by Ruslan. Lucas really dominated the early rounds causing a lot of damage on Ruslan.

Ruslan never claimed he won, or at least I recall him saying he knew he had lost, which is very humble from him. He could have said "I won" but he didn't.

I had it 8-4 Matthysse (could even make a case for 9-3), thought it was a clear win.

I also had it something like 8-4 Matthysse. It was competitive, no doubt, but too many rounds got away from Provo (which simply had no answers other than pressure) for me to say it was a draw.

You have every right to your opinion that the fight was a draw and some fans agree with you. I thought Matthysse was a close but clear winner by maybe 3 points. They both hit very hard but Matthysse landed more punches and more accurate punches in more of the rounds as I recall.

I don't think so. Don't think I watched it a second time but from I remember Lucas had enough rounds in the bag. Gruesome fight. Unbelievable punishment dished out. It took an awful lot out of both of them.

First time I ever saw Ruslan hurt. All it took were a couple consecutive clean bombs from Lucas that would've KOed anybody else.
