Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Liam Walsh Ready, He Can Beat Gervonta Davis!

GERVONTA DAVIS announced himself as a world star at the weekend with a stunning win over Jose Pedraza to claim the IBF super featherweight title. Well now it is time for Liam Walsh to make his name known worldwide. That is because Walsh is mandatory challenger for Davis' newly acquired IBF belt and it is not a fight we will be avoiding.

Walsh is a good boxer with an eye-pleasing style but he'll be at a big athletic disadvantage against Gervonta. If he can avoid being dropped it could get interesting though

"We are disappointed the Mexican superstar has opted for that fight rather than taking on Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO middleweight title.

But I suppose the money on offer to face a fellow Mexican around a big holiday in their country is understandable."

First of all, you blew the chance at setting up a lucrative showdown against Canelo when you didn't allow BJS to have a showcase fight against Rosado on his PPV undercard. That would have introduced him to a large American audience and served to hype him up.

Second, of course it's understandable that an all-Mexican showdown will be profitable. It's the same principle behind shoddy British domestic fights that always seem to draw money. You should know.

And Gervonta Davis will make mincemeat out of Liam Walsh.

              Walsh's 21-0 with 14 ko's against OK opposition.Seems like a fair fight.

Walsh is quite a nice boxer.

Gervonta Davis is a different animal though he smashed Pedraza to bits and Pedraza is a class fighter.

comparing him to AB means I don't like him? I see similarities in their styles. and the hype for AB was through the roof until he met Maidana. the hype for Davis is reaching that level.

it's a compliment. Davis seems a bit more disciplined and willing to learn so he might be even better than AB.. I'm just talking on their styles not their behavior outside the ring.
