Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz vs. Jarrell Miller Could Top First Matchroom Card in U.S.

Last year, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport had discussed his strategy to have his UK based company enter the American market. As part of his plan to invade America, he signed up Cuban heavyweight puncher Luis Ortiz (27-0, 23KOs) to a promotional agreement. Ortiz, who parted ways with Golden Boy Promotions, has already fought twice for Matchroom.

Props to Miller for actually wanting this fight. I don't think anyone at the HW division is too eager to mix it up w/ Ortiz.

Miller is already demanding a title shot if he wins, and won't fight Ortiz otherwise. Not sure if that can be made.

Big Baby Miller talked himself into a big fight with a very good fighter. Potentially an awesome April for HW boxing..

This would be a huge step up for Miller. He hasn't come close to facing a talent like Ortiz.

I think HBO and Showtime would want this fight.

Hopefully Hearns can pull it off.

In theory he becomes the WBA mandatory, no? Ortiz is the WBA mandatory.

Not impressed with what I've seen of Miller thus far INSIDE the ring. He's a great talker and freaking hilarious but he's a ko waiting to happen and Ortiz will be the perfect guy to expose that. Still a good fight none the less though and hope it gets made.
