Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson: Unfair Haters Call All of My Opponents 'Bums'

After a breakout 2013 campaign that saw Adonis Stevenson (28-1) go 4-0 with knockouts of Darnell Boone, Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud and Tony Bellew, criticism of his selection of opponents began in ernest. When a mega-fight against rival Sergey Kovalev to unify all four titles light heavyweight titles failed to come to fruition, the criticism grew even larger.

The criticism is warranted. He only has himself to blame.

Mayweather finally fought and beat Pacquiao you're still fighting everyone but Kovalev and you don't even have a reason so don't be so surprised

gotta agree with Stevenson here. but haters are not supposed to be "fair".

Joe Smith Jr beating Fonfara gets hype because nobody expected that. it's called an upset.

hopefully Haymon matches him with Badou Jack next.

Yeah that's true; Kapency has been working as a nurse for years. and I think I saw Andrzej Fonfara unloading the produce truck at the polish grocery a few times.

Stevenson lately has been the Wilder of the LHW division. He just needs to step it up for at least a couple fights to ward off the naysayers. Will he do it? I doubt it, but stranger things have happened. I mean, at least rematch Cleverly after Haye dusts him in 2. And what about Braehmer, Beterbiev, Joe Smith Jr? Or Gvozdyk, Chilemba, Eleider Alvarez. The guy has a lot of work to do if he really expects fans to keep putting up with Karpency level fights.

all these guys resumes are pretty much the same, I have no idea how the fans of certain fighters can even open their mouths to speak against other fighters resumes, its just crazy. I studied a particular fighters resume yesterday and it was worse than I thought

he could have fought kov but they did the same thing Stevenson did which ruined the fight, yet only Stevenson is called the duck. wilder was on his way to stepping up his comp but a well known cheater (who gets a pass around here) ruined it, he then got injured fighting the replacement, not saying Povtk was an elite fighter but it was a step up in comp. lets hope he steps it up after testing out the arm.
