Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Worried: Chavez Jr. Could Derail Canelo-Golovkin Plan

According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, he is very motivated to stage a September fight between his company star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) and the current middleweight king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs).

Chavez Jr will definately come 2 fight IDK if he can pulloff an upset tho and aside from that DANIEL JACOBS might be more capable of an upset in his matchup w/GGG

Jacobs has a bigger shot at derailing things IMO. But neither will happen both guys win their fights comfortably. But promoters will say they are worried to sell the fights regardless.

There goes Oscar talking about rematches and trilogies to delay GGG another year. Ridiculous. How about do the trilogy with GGG, that's what the fans want, then do Chavez Jr. after that. That's what they'd do if they weren't ducking GGG.

He said the same things during the khan fight. It's called promoting, selling the fight. There will be no rematch or trilogies just like there wasn't with khan. What promoter says this fight means nothing we blowing this guy out so don't bother showing up wait for our next fight to show up. Even if they deep down believe it's a easy fight they will talk it up. GGG camp did the same thing with little oh Brook.

GGG vs Canelo in 2019 is fair target. We want GGG to be old enough to get beaten by Canelo
