I doubt he would move into a tougher division unless he had to. At his age he probably wants more money too, he didn't even make a million vs DeGale. Stevenson at 40 could be seen as ripe for picking and it's fairly easy to make.

At least he didn't say it was to avoid Smith which I thought was the angle he was coming in at. Probably feels there's not much left for him at SMW. Guessing he must be struggling to some degree, doesn't need to give excuses for the move.
