Based on merit, who deserves to be the highest paid boxer today?

In other sports, such as Baseball, Football (real football not soccer), & Basketball the salaries are based on the athletes, merits and talents on the field/court with other things such as look and personality making a small impact. Boxing on the other hand pays a lot by popularity, persona, & looks and a lot of times talent/skill is thrown out of the equation.

With that said, who do you think should be the highest paid boxer today based on talent and ring merits?

If we're talking about RIGHT NOW, then base it on the P4P list. If we're talking about career achievements, then guys like Manny, Wlad, Ward, etc.

I think the current system works though. You get paid based on what you draw and what you can negotiate. Capitalism baby!

Good list, talent wise/athletically these are the kinda guys you pick first when playing any sport.

            lol @ capitalism

& I think I was more directing my question towards talent & future. For instance, Kobe Bryant is my favorite athlete of all time but if he were to come back and make more money than Russel Westbrook, James Harden or Lebron thatd be horrendous. I think Manny and Wlad fall into that category because I doubt any NBA team would choose and pay Manny (at this point) more than Lomencheko

Roman Gonzalez..... best combination of accomplishments and crowd pleasing style. He's still my P4P no 1.

NBA and Teams are big Draws by themselfs, they had tradidion in theyr home towns. But still players that are Draws can make big money for team, they would chose good player whos still big Draw and still can play at high level (Manny) instead of very good but not well known
                  one(Loma)

Boxing it self is not a Draw, see Kova vs Ward 160k buys lol ,but household names can make huge money.
