Comments Thread For: Broner: Fighting Spence Would Be "Foolish" for Crawford's Career

NEW YORK Adrien Broner respects Terence Crawford and what he has accomplished. The former four-division champion is convinced, though, that Crawford should avoid a fight against Errol Spence Jr. Crawford would have to move up from 140 pounds to 147 to face Spence, who has shown tremendous power during his ascent toward title contention.

Some trillionaire whos fed up with this "picking fights" **** is going to have enough and will buy out all boxing promoters and en****** to walk away from their fighters so it can be like UFC. We would def see more fighters fighting in their primes and it would be even better if the fighters still got huge returns unlike UFC fighters... im tired of easy fights being fought for extrmely over talented competition

Nobody with a normal sense wants to see a pair of guys in underwear roll around and kiss each other in a ring. Exept some loving guys from SanFransico perhaps :-) Long live Boxing :-)

Everyone's dream! ....Unfortunately the days of Hagler,Hearns ,Duran and leonard( many more) have gone. The promoters and boxers seem happy nowadays to talk bollocks outside the ring such as the above with Broner and just want to kid us with the mindset you suggest ....not good!

Wow, just wow. Is this truly what Mayweather and Haymon have done to boxing, what they are teaching their boxers? Is this truly what boxing fans are going to accept? That fighting the best guys your size is somehow "foolish" for one of the best?

I think this is precisely why the PBC ratings have gone down so much. Fans root for boxers, for warriors, for the competition of sport, not for businessmen who avoid competition. Boxing is a business but it's the business of competition. Without the competition, the sport ceases to exist, and so do the fans and the money. That's what is happening. If you're not competing to try to be the best you can be and challenge yourself until you find out how good you are, then why would fans care about your career? They will go find a real sportsman boxer to root for instead.

Broner has it all wrong here. I can't be a fan of this. Spence-Crawford should not only be made, it should be made no later than 2018.

everytime particular fighters do well they are always required to go up in weight n fight someone or if they are on this rise they have to fight the best guy in the division because they have a little hype. Like tank davis now has to fight Loma? Crawford needs to go up and fight Spence? (HBO for some reason brought up spence after crawfords last win), floys needed to fight GGG, Ward was scared of Kov, Etc. I really don't get or understand why this is. then when and if they go up and fight the guys u say they are scared of and win or make it a close fight u go crazy and make excuses, nothing is ever enough for particular fighters.

You GGG fans always want others to move up.

Floyd moved up lots of times....so has Broner.
Crawford is not a WW...he just got to 140 from 135.

Not that I am in a rush to agree with Boner, but I'd much rather see Spence fight other top welterweights than Crawford. And I want to see Bud fight other guys at 140, especially Boner himself. To me, a Spence/Crawford fight, while intriguing, makes almost zero sense right now on several levels.

I thought it was disrespectful for Kellerman to ask Crawford about moving up to fight Spence Jr.! Crawford is at 140, Pacquiao is at 147, which one should be fighting Spence Jr.? However, I do think Crawford should target Danny Garcia like a laser! If Garcia wins, then Crawford should go hard! Pacquiao or DSG at 147! Go get it! In the meantime, Crawford needs Adren Broner or Mikey Garcia @ 140!
