Canelo doesn't need Golovkin yet. After Chavez Jr, he has a Cotto rematch, BJS, and Lemieux. Maybe in 2019.

      2016 May Khan
      2016 September Smith
      2017 May Chavez Jr.
      2017 September Cotto II
      2018 May Lemieux
      2018 September BJS
      2019 May Golovkin

Maybe Golovkin can unify each WBA title in 2017 by going after Njikam if he beats Jacobs. That's as good as it gets for him in 2017 though IMO.

whoever thinks jacobs is a worthy opponent needs a reality check
              ^^^^This.

The other thing I can't get over is how Mora's soft left hook put him down and had him dazed. Fact is Jacobs is a fragile, chinny fighter. One hard (even not so hard) punch to the chin and he'll be done.

GGG deserves respect regardless. he unified the WBC, WBA and IBF world middleweight titles. putting him in the history books with hagler and hopkins.

But if Jacobs wins, it becomes the upset of the year if no greater upset occurs and I believe Jacobs with his winning streak would become a top 10 PFP entrant. GGG seems like a nice guy and all but Jacobs is a great guy who has paid his dues and I'm pulling for Jacobs. He is a live underdog for sure.

History books yes, but not on their level yet, if ever. GGG needs a SUPERFIGHT with a star to be on their level. Granted, Canelo is part of the reason he has not had that fight but there is still time for him, his career is not over yet.

Jacobs is an extremely dangerous fighter. You don't see big mouths, Lara, Saunders or Eubank trying to fight him do you? Since beating cancer Jacobs has KOed all 12 of his opponents including Mora and Quillen who had never been stopped before.
