Of all those "89 media members" please remove all those SUPER-BIASED against Canelo ones (either due to his being Mexican or for plain jealousy, as in, unbelievably so, Mexican commentators themselves). That is, please remove all commentators from the following nationalities:
1) Americans (Mexican-haters in all regards, boxing included of course)
2) Mexicans (Most if not all Mexican commentators and ex-fighters or current fighters are jealous of Canelo's popularity and success).
3) Puerto Ricans (the boxing rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico, more than rivalry, is actually outright hatred).
4) Cubans (simply because Erislandy is Cuban, duh)
It would be very interesting to see what the remaining, presumably non-biased "media members" thought about the fight.
I saw the whole fight. I saw a TOTAL AND COMPLETE COWARD (Lara) running away from Canelo, the minute he realized Canelo can Punch and could easily KO Lara, if he engaged Canelo like a real man would have, even for just a minute).
I also saw that yes, Lara connected a bit more total punches, mostly jabs to the face of Canelo, some of them very clear, which actually snapped Canelo's head back a few times. Yes, that looks kind of impressive. But is not as meaningful as a shocking body punch, clearly connected.
But I also saw that THE MEANINGFUL punches, the power punches to the body, were connected by Canelo, almost exclusively. That's the very reason why that super-coward loud-mouth Lara was on his bicycle the whole night, receiving huge punches to the body sporadically--but enough for Canelo to win rounds--, and throwing lots of cowardly jabs at a far distance. That IS NOT ring generalship, that's, putting it plain and simple, SHEER COWARDICE and self-preservation.
Lara didn't deserve to win that fight because he "fought" like a complete coward, running away all the time, never ever engaging. Trout did engage Canelo, same did Mosley and to a much lesser degree, even Floyd. They took a chance against a guy with tremendous KOing power. Cotto BTW did similar to Lara: once he felt Canelo's power, he mounted on his bicycle the whole fight, and then he had the nerve of saying he was robbed. But in his defense, he was easily two divisions smaller than Canelo on fight night, so running away was his only choice. On the contrary, Lara was about the same weight as Canelo on fight night.
Canelo gave Lara a chance to be a man and actually fight him, for only peanuts for Canelo because almost any other high-level fight would have brought in more money for Canelo, but he faced this CUBAN SUPER-COWARD, to please boxing fans.
There's no real justifiable reason to watch another running contest of Canelo awkwardly chasing cowardly Lara, unable to KO him simply because for some strange reason, nobody has taught Canelo how to cut off the ring, like many others do or did in their time (the likes of GGG, JCC Senior, etc.).
If a survey is made of whom do people wish to see Canelo fight, I'm sure Lara wouldn't even be included in such a list. Most people like watching a FIGHT, not a coward jabbing his way to a possible decision in Olympic style, boring the heck out of everybody. Talk about the likes of Lara himself and Rigondeaux.
Why doesn't cowardly Lara chase a fight against a similar cowardly-style fighter such as Floyd? That would be the snooze-fest of the century, but very interesting to see which of those two would "man up" at least for one round or so, after being booed and thrown objects onto them from the audience.Last edited by sterilizer; 01-17-2017, 02:51 PM.

big risk, little reward, next to no money....
sadly, these are the things that plague Lara.
why take the risk. what Lara is going to have to do is troll, make noise, and call out fighters. turning heel isn't a bad move, be the bad guy, talk lots of shidt, and create the demand, force the fights to happen, otherwise, they're just going to keep avoiding him.

Tom L is so full of it. . . Yeah , Lara kept calling Canelo out and Canelo did what you are supposed to do and he shut him up in the ring. .
When is Golovkin going to do the same. Ignoring him over and over again is starting to look very bad for them. Especially when they fought a welter weight no problem and golovkin isn't exactly spoilt for choice when it comes to opponents.
People have to start believing that team GGG want no part of this fight .

If Lara (or anyone) wants to fight GGG all they have to do is get ranked #1 in any of 3 sanctioning bodies at MW. That should not be that hard to do.
Make Lara vs N'Dam for the interim belt, grab it and lobby for a mando to be ordered. Then he would get his shot.
Yeah, yeah I know Brook didn't but if Lara really wants the fight he's got to go after it.

Until Lara knows his current place, he won't land GGG for sure.
That's the problem when fighters start playing the A-side/B-side game. Unless you're Floyd Mayweather, somebody out there is always a bigger fish. As big a star as Manny was, he had to bend over in negotiations with Floyd. Boxing would be so much better, and probably more popular. If fighters like GGG simply went out and said, who's the best available guy that wants to fight me? Then made it happen. Because as a fight fan, if you wanna see Canelo-GGG. There's no logical reason not to wanna see Lara-GGG. Both Lara And Canelo have made their living at jr middleweight. And they're no worse than equals in terms of level of fighter. So there's basically no difference in GGG fighting one or the other. The only difference is what each fight will do for his bank account. And you, me, nor anyone should care how much money these guys make.
