K2 had the chance to make the fight last year and cheaped out. They can't pay anywhere near what canelo would pay them. Canelo will use Saunders as leverage against GGG if he keeps pricing himself out. Just like they did to chavez. Once chavez pops came out saying they want more money or no fight a week later WBO made canelo the mandatory for Saunders belt. Chavez worried he would lose the payday immediately agreed to the original offer by canelo fearing if they didn't canelo would fight for Saunders belt instead. Same will play out if both GGG and canelo win their upcoming fights Saunders left out in the cold. If GGG Canelo doesn't happen next Saunders will go to the highest bidder which will be canelo and GGG is left out. That's why canelo fought smith to gain options and leverage for the WBO title.
