  • If Golovkin beats Jacobs...

If Golovkin beats Jacobs, which opponents will he then be able to take without it being regarded as a stepdown? Personally, I see these as the only opponents he could face in watchworthy fights after:

Saunders, who is on the same level as Jacobs.
DeGale, Jack or Ramirez, the 3 best 168lbs fighters, all better than Jacobs.
Canelo, who is the most asked-for opponent.
Lara, Charlo, etc., it would be okay to see him against those, even if I prefer the bigger opponents.

It's pretty much canelo or move up at that point.. fighting anyone else at mw is a step back.

Also Saunders is no where near Jacobs level...

Since when did Saunders become a stepback from Jacobs?

Saunders is undefeated, defeated Eubank Jr and Andy Lee, and from 2013-2014, he beat 4 undefeated fighters in a row.

He is clearly on the same level as Jacobs.

Saunders is not as mentally sound as Jacobs with his skill nor does he have
Power like Jacobs, Jacobs would ko him.

            Canelo or bust.

If I'm Golovkin, I'm thinking fight Jacobs, Canelo twice, and then retire. Maybe Chavez, if he does well against Canelo.

Saunders is a head case, so I rule him out.

By 2018, GGG needs to start thinking of a post-boxing life. He gets hit too much.

Lara if Erislandy decides to move up and understand that he isn't running anything in terms of the negotiations. That's the guy I want to see fight GGG next when Canelo ducks

We can't be sure about that. Their resumes are similiar in level.

I would bet money on Jacobs winning a Saunders fight by KO.

Is Pirog so many levels above Saunders, in your eyes?
