The truth is, very rarely have humble champions ever been superstars. You have Holyfield and Sugar Ray Leonard and Manny Pacquiao and that's pretty much it for humble superstars in boxing. People love a villain, they love having someone to hate. They can't help themselves.
Even his trash talk was horrible. It was never good or clever. It was Adrien Broner level crap.

Only people with a severe dent in their brain would find that good.

Maybe he's like Rainman. Kind of ******ed but a ridiculous boxing IQ.

A mild Autism would actually not be a bad bet when you consider his talent and intelligence in the ring.

I don't mean that as a slight on Floyd, i don't mind him at all. There's a stigma attached to Autism that you're some sort of window licking mental person when actually it can be very mild and seem mostly "normal"

Going by that reasoning Floyd Mayweather is the most charismatic fighter ever seeing as hes the most talked about and most lucrative fighter.

That's not true. His trash talk made him the most successful fighter ever. People have to feel emotional in order to want to put money into your pocket and that is what Floyd did.

There's actually a 1 hour documentary, I believe it was before the Floyd/Manny fight, it was a Showtime documentary on Floyd, his family, his upbringing, his life without Floyd Sr., Roger being his trainer as he grew up, and got into the pros, and also some home footage I've never seen before watching the documentary.

I always knew Floyd was one of those loud and ****y type of guys, but it actually shows him being the actual Floyd, and not, "money", or "Pretty Boy", and he was actually pretty funny as a kid, and one of those class clown types with too much energy. Showed a family and him being him before the fame version of Floyd, and just one of those funny kids that always crackin jokes.

I think he's the same way still, but because of the, "Money" thing, he's gotta turn it up to 100 when he's on camera, and when he's in the media. Pretty much, he's a talkative class clown type, that loves being the center of attention. I think in real life, he's generally a decent guy, and just turns up the ass hole thing when he needs to, even though it's pretty douchey to act that way in the first place, just for money, but hey, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't do the same thing for his type of bread, but not on his level.

Good point but Floyd wasnt talked so much in his early career ,tramendous succes bring attention no meter of how charismatic you are ,like Messi ,this dude have no Charisma at all but his skills put him in spot like this.

Chisora can make money being medicore at best ,Fury is not medicore but have only 1 big fight and was all over boxing media,UK media etc,if he will comeback he can be huge.

Floyd with no 0 is nobody,Conor got choked out by Decent Diaz and still is huge ,First MMA fighter immune on loses?we shell see.

Charisma and succes is not the same thing.

I agree. People can say what they want about him but he's a genius in the ring and in his ability to manipulate the boxing industry to suit his personal needs. I'm not a huge fan of his either but boy what a run he has had in the "business" of boxing.

I've never felt that Mayweather was "villian" or too disrespectful towards other fighters, he was just overconfident about his abilities, but he backed up that talk

His trash talk was never ever good. It was total crap.

I'm not saying he didn't master the market - Of course he did. He made people believe that maybe someone was the guy to beat him. Or gave fighters the opportunity to make people believe it.

Very well done and cong**** - Because he couldn't sell on excitement, either personal or in the ring.

He was equally boring in both areas.
