  • Floyd Mayweather's personality?

    Has anyone seen it?

**** me, what a boring ****. No wonder he acted the "villain" all the time, it was the only way people would stay awake.

I've never seen such a boring "promoter" in all my life. Honestly, that tedious **** couldn't sell me a free hand shandy from Scarlett Johannson.

    What a boring ****.

He slows his voice down to Larry Merchant levels. What the **** is wrong with him? In fighthype interviews he talks normally.

When people say things like this, it reminds me of pro wrestling fans that hate the "bad guys". It takes a bit of maturity to appreciate the best entertainers, and the best are typically the heels. It takes a lot more talent to be a successful villain and Floyd is the most succe$$ful boxer ever.

I'm not enamored with the guy and usually don't spend much time defending him. But, I totally recognise that he's a brilliant entertainer. People hate the act and say there's a normal man behind the great and powerful Oz. Well, yea. Celebrities are all humans. So what?

Mayweather is seriously the most boring guy. In and out of the ring he's unbelievably unexciting.

People who've spent their money watching this guy fight Fooking hell, I feel said for you.

My point was - if your definition of "maturity" includes basic reading comprehension - that where was the "villain" aspect of his personality as a promoter?

He was hella entertaining when he boasted and trash talked in his younger days, I loved it.

But it all stopped when he got the jail sentence, came out a different man in a short amount of time.

In a way, it seemed like he humbled himself a little bit.

Damn, are all boxing fans bi-polar? Mayweather is damned if he does (Money May) and damned if he doesn't (Pretty Boy).

He actually comes across as a pr*ck to me but I think most highly successful people live in their own world so it's not entirely unusual......

You're right, I was perhaps judging too harshly. We won't judge in future...

Ali's ''villain'' personality was tenfold for its time. In decades it grew. Mayweather Jr., with plenty of time to make any political move, can be even bigger. #50 is yet to happen. Fighting Conor and UFC is a political statement for industry competition. It's a not a bonafide boxing #50. But people will remember the books that Conor was the loud mouth MMA fighter that eventually got schooled in territory he said was easy.

Fans and casuals love that drama. I mean look at Conor's personality, media hype, the dude's an ''Irish Tattoo Warrior'' beast claiming to be the king in ''I'll knock you out.'' In hindsight.... vs Mayweather Jr. aftermath... let history revisit it. ''boxcandy''

I'll look past the fact that you botched a sentence in which you were criticizing others reading committeeman.
But, on Saturday he made a great move in getting himself on camera, stirring the pot, and bringing out that polarizing "Money" character that is great for TV.

I feel like I'm saying this all the time on here but I'm not a Floyd fan. However, I really do respect his shtick. If he's a boring guy underneath it, I don't care because I'm not hanging out with him.
