How do you rate Arthur Mercante Jr.'s chin?

Honestly? I think it's overrated. The guy wasn't even hit cleanly on the sweet spot, yet he had to use the ropes to avoid hitting the deck. I thought it still counted as a KD if the ropes held you up - why didn't he start administering himself a 10 count?

His powers of recovery were good, I'll give him that, he'd have got up before the ref counted to ten, even with a British ref.

Ive seen Mercante street fight before ,i used to work with Mercante . He was actually fired for getting into too many fights ,he was a boss at local one in N.Y for theatre . I dont know about his chin but i know he cant grapple ,i threw him down a small flight of stairs once 10 years ago (Mercante is pretty tough though never became a pro boxer bc of his chin i heard ) All around pleasant guy as lontg as you werent near him 24 /7 . lol

Surely you had to be disappointed with his punch resistance there? Where was his head movement?

He's got heart, I'll give him that.

He recovered fast, agreed. I was concerned how he'd manage the following round.

Do you think Jack punches harder than DeGale? Maybe he could have taken a few shots from James.

He's a slow come forward plodder. I bet Khan was watching this fight wishing he had Mercante's chin though

Also, he should of been disqualified as Badou Jack helped him stay up. You can't get any assistance after a knockdown

Who cares about his chin? He has NO movement.

THIS is what we need to be seeing from these refs.

Or if you going to get hit, take it like a man. This is who they should have got

Mercante is not a young buck anymore ,he slipped Holyfields punch rather easy back in the day (though it would have been hysterical on Monday with all the guys if he had got knocked out ).
