and you dont know if they rejected it because of the money, or because of other terms or conditions in the offer. All of this is true IF you ignore that Canelo/GBP have sent a contract to GGG. The Golovkin team are - on record - rejecting the terms of the contract.
We do not know if they sent a counter-offer. Instead we just know the terms "weren't good enough" for GGG. Even though it would clearly be a career-high payday for 35 year old Khazak.
Put down your Kool Aid and open your eyes
Was there language limiting GGGs revenue in a potential rematch?
Was Golden Boy wanting options on GGG going forward?
Was there an escape clause in the contract that would let Golden Boy pull out before Sept 2017? (this is likely since their Chavez offer has a rematch clause)
There are more things than just the money that need to be negotiated in a fight.........Comment

I believe Chavez brings in more buyers than Lil G. Due to the large and passionate Mexican fan base.
The PPV will likely do good numbers, yes. More than a Canelo vs GGG card would do probably.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 01-16-2017, 01:11 PM.Comment

No chit man, Golden Boy has no other star, didnt it show that Canelo accounted for over 80 percent of Golden boys earnings last year? if Canelo loses they have nothing left. Oscar is screwed all his fighters went with Haymon becaue he was busy snorting coke the snake Richard Shaeffer was ***ing him over while he was in rehab lol. Oscar is ****** he never realized what Richard was doing pretending to be his brother and friend only to screw him in the end by not signing any of those fighters to longer term contracts lol Haymon got Oscar good there.Comment

You'd be wrong tho. Have you seen Chavez ratings lately? Nobody tunes in. Not only that, there's like complete overlap between Canelos and his fanbases, he brings barely any extra. Zero appeal for non Mexicans either. Ever seen 2 Mexicans sell 1m on ppv? Will do great on box azteca or whateverComment

Actually, the 15 million being Lil g's biggest payday has EVERYTHING to do with it.The fact that 15 million would be GGG's biggest pay day has nothing to do with anything. That's the same argument that Pacquiao haters used to say he should take Mayweather's flat fee offer of 30 million. Pacquiao stood his ground and made many times 30 million. Chavez vs Canelo is a big fight but it isn't the fight the whole boxing world is dying to see. GGG vs Canelo is a much bigger fight. Even if an offer of 15 million is really on the table, which I doubt, why should GGG accept it knowing Canelo might make as much as 50 million. Oscar isn't fair or neutral. He wants most of the money and he really wants the fight not to happen for years. GGG and his team can decide for themselves what is or isn't a fair offer without any assistance from guys on this board who hate him. GGG should be getting at least 35 percent rather than the 20 percent Chavez gets because GIGANTIC G vs Canelo is a much bigger fight than Chavez vs Canelo. They can't have that fight without him.
Comparisons with Pac are irrelevant and inaccurate.
Pac was himself a PPV star who brought his own audience and could muster what Floyd was offering as a flat fee in one or two fights.
By contrast, Lil g's CAREER earnings now stand at about 25 million- 15 million is a HUGE chunk for him.
Canelo and GBP owe Golovkin nothing. It isn't their job or concern to treat Lil g "fair" financially.
But really, based on what Gennady has made his whole career, 15 million is more than fair.Comment

I await the PPV numbers for this fight as well as for Golovkin-Jacobs.Comment

So we have to wait until after GGG beats Jacobs and Canelo beats Jr.and you dont know if they rejected it because of the money, or because of other terms or conditions in the offer.

Exactly this. But the ggg haters are blinded by their hate.Haha, Canelo got burned.
I love how the hate squad is making it sound like GBP is overpaying with the 15M offer. Oscar the generous is doing Golovkin a big favor with that offer, and Golovkin is just an ungrateful man who refuses. Shame on that Kazakh!
Here's the simple fact: If the 15M flat fee was not great for GBP's business, they would not have offered it. It's a lowball, end of story.Comment
