  • Comments Thread For: Broner: Pacquiao Needs Me More Now; Would Do Crazy PPV Numbers

NEW YORK Adrien Broner believes the biggest fight for him remains a pay-per-view showdown with Manny Pacquiao. The difference is, Broner thinks Pacquiao and his promoter, Bob Arum, must pay him more than Broner previously requested because Pacquiao needs the polarizing Broner's star power to bolster his sagging pay-per-view numbers. Broner pointed to Pacquiao's next low-profile fight, April 22 against Australia's Jeff Horn, as evidence that Arum must come back to him with a better offer than he made last year (reportedly $4 million guaranteed).

I don't want to see Pacquiao vs. Broner next. I want to see a unification bout with Broner vs. Crawford @ 140! Winner gets Pacquiao!

He ain't lying. . AB deserves to get paid because he alone will carry the promotion, nobody cares about what Manny has to say, it's the same old ****.

AB vs Pacquiao will do better PPV numbers than Crawford vs Pacquiao.

Algieri, Rios, Bradley 3 and Vargas.. all flops. they know better than to put Jeff Horn on PPV. .cheap a** Arum needs to pay AB what he's asking for, or keep flopping.

Pacquiao vs Khan in the U.K. is the only other fight that'll do good numbers. .but Khan I'm sure is more expensive than AB.

I'm sure we would all be tuning in but there's no way it does huge PPV. Manny doesn't really do huge PPV numbers anymore unless he's going to fight Floyd or someone else that does good numbers. To do huge PPV you basically have to cross over to the "casual" fan and Pacquiao's time for that has been and gone and Broner has never appealed to them, he actually just not that well known at all outside of people that truly follow the sport.

Agreed. It is pretty obvious that Floyd has been in Broner's ear also. Floyd is the only boxer alive that can disparagingly make reference to another's ppv numbers. Not even Canelo, save his fight with Floyd, has has Pacquiao's ppv success so it's funny to hear a guy who was fighting on Spike TV last year, talk about Pacquiao's numbers.

Yeah, i think Broner is a bit deluded in his level of fame as a fighter. Let's be fair, he hardly even gets a mention anymore. He's fighting a guy thats 18-4 in his next fight and nobody has even slated him for it, simply because nobody really rates Broner anymore and accepts that's a fairly acceptable opponent for him haha
