Gervonta Davis stole the show last night!

As a Brit, having paid little attention to the undercard, I just can't get over how great Gervonta Davis looked! That was a top, top performance and only 22 years old! Damn. Still a baby and he beat an established world champion, making him look amateurish in the process.

That was a voluntary defence for Jose Pedraza, Davis was only ranked #8 in the IBF. Wasn't even ranked by any other organisation! There's talk of him having to take the mandatory against Liam Walsh in his next outing, but that would be a walk in the park judging from last night.

Just hope they build him up steady because he could be a serious star in the making! Cong**** fat Yanks you have a good one on your hands in young Gervonta!

this is why haymon is in such a strong position. he has a bunch of these kids coming up. one by one they're picking off belts left and right, with more and more young talent coming up the pipeline.

i think gervonta davis was a big wake up call for a lot of people last night. al & floyd aren't playing around.

I'm pretty biased because I've been paying attention to him for a while now since he's from my city so maybe my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt...

But I agree. Jack/DeGale was an awesome fight but I still came away from the night thinking more about Tank's performance.

                I agree with that.

It's almost similar to Hearn in the UK. His dad was a well known promoter successful anyway, for a long time they were not that active in the British boxing scene but had that advantage.

The similarities i'm seeing though is that about 4-5 years ago they got more active and have essentially started having the pick of the best talent coming through because they have the best platform and pay the most money so it's easy to turn the heads of young kids coming through, especially seeing as Hearn basically has all the big earners from the UK, now he seems the man to be with. So imagine a young talented kid in USA looking at what Floyd has done and having Haymon behind them, most young talented fighters could have their heads turned by them quite easily.

I really think Mayweather promotions could be a serious force in boxing. It might take a few years to get the roster together and fighters developed, but the foundations are in place as long as they're working alongside someone like Haymon.

Do you or anyone else know if he has a speech problem? Idk if he was just super excited or not comfortable talking on the mic or what but it sounded as if he has a speech problem.

If the Brits fork over enough money to make it worth it then Davis should consider fighting Liam Walsh over there.

Don't see him having too much trouble with him despite giving up the home advantage.
