Floyd Wrong About Jack Making Weight? Should There Be A Rematch of Degale vs Jack?

In the post-fight interview, Badou Jack and his promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr, seemed very reluctant to have a rematch, claiming that Jack is too big for 168 even in light of the Draw he got tonight with one of the best 168 boxers in the division, James Degale.

Making 168 this time didn't have the normal weight-draining effect that you would commonly expect from someone having excessive difficulty getting down to the weight.

So is Floyd wrong about Jack being unable to make 168 again, and would you like to see the rematch?

Before the fight he was already talking about moving up. This was going to be his last fight at 168 win or lose but the draw made it a difficult decision. When DeGae first asked he said he was moving up and when Jim Grey asked he said only for a rematch. He was WAAAAAYYYYY bigger than Degale in the ring tonight. If he rematches him it should be in the UK for a lot of money.

Well he did make the weight so he can do it, but we don't see behind the scenes every day and how difficult it is. The next time making 168 might be a step too far and you end up losing a fight because of that and is it worth risking it? So i get it. At some point you might just have to move up regardless.

I'd love to see the fight again, so it's disappointing if Jack moves up and we don't get a rematch of a great fight.. but i understand it.

definitely agree. the Draw didn'T help much for TMT and Jack. But imo I had it a Draw. Too bad there's no rematch, and in the UK.

Jack has said several times that making 168 is getting difficult for him.

The only reason he even appeared to consider a rematch is the possible big money they might throw his way if the fight is in the UK.

Um if his body is telling him it's time to move up then it's time to move up. That was the plan before the fight.

"Making 168 this time didn't have the normal weight-draining effect that you would commonly expect from someone having excessive difficulty getting down to the weight"

You're proposing he keeps pushing his body until it does? Show up drained on fight night in a competitive fight when he already knew the signs that moving up was necessary? Now, does that sound smart?

Sounds like Jim Grey "Figure it out." As Paulie said it's not that simple. I absolutely don't want to see a rematch if both fighters aren't at their best.

Like everyone is saying Badou has been saying this would be his last go around at 168 so idk if this draw should be altering his opinion if his body isn't getting down to 168 as easy as it once did.

But for me I wouldn't mind seeing them rematching at 170 or something if that makes it more likely to happen. I don't give a f#ck about titles so much these days so just seeing who's better between these two is worthwhile enough for me. Granted finding out who's the best 168lber would hold more appeal, but if its not doable its not doable.

Jack came in at 167.25 lbs. for this fight. Pay the man and let's get a rematch at 168.

There are fight at 175 for Jack that are pretty appealing, they can get around to a rematch later when DeGale feels like moving up. I hope they do rematch at some point but it doesn't have to be next.

I would love an immediate rematch but Jack was already talking about moving up. I don't think we see the 2nd fight happen anytime soon
