I would assume so. I mean, you have Canelo who is their top guy, and then you have the son of the legend, Chavez Jr. If the Mexicans I know here in FL, are like the ones in Mexico, most don't really know anything about who he has fought. They just know he has a good record, and is Chavez Jr. I would think this would be like the Superbowl of boxing for Mexico.

Good question. I thought the public response to this fight would be a lot more energetic. As of today it doesn't even seem to be generating as much buzz as Canelo vs Khan.

Well, they just signed like yesterday and we are 4 months away from the fight..Once they start their training camps and the 24/7 like shows start and televisa or azteca start showing commercials, tecate giving rebates, etc, etc, mark my words, this fight will sell,I in fact, predict a higher DUI checkpoints in the U.S where a large hispanic demographic lives.

I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and know a lot of people with family ties in Mexico. When the fight was being talked about I heard there was a lot of buzz about these two throwing down. Not sure about the media coverage but this fight will have many eyes on it in Mexico.
I really hope they do this fight in TX so I can go. My co worker has season tix to the cowboys and gets first dibs on other events in JerryWorld at cost with no mark up. He told me he would let me buy his club level seats at cost if the fight goes down. I think it will end up in Vegas but the crowd would be crazy for this one in TX.

This is the biggest fight in Mexico since De La Hoya vs. Chavez SR. I think it'll be bigger

I live in Texas right on the Mexican border, there does seem to be more buzz for this fight compared to other recent big fights (ward-kovalev, canelo-Smith, etc). Alot of people are talking about it, most of them seem intrigued by the matchup.
