I'd honestly give it to Floyd though. He didn't always face opponents when he should've but you can' t look at his record and not be impressed. I just wish the Pacquiao fight would've happened in 2009. If that fight happened then with the same results as it had in 2015 I would by far rank Mayweather higher than Leonard.
Agree with you, had the Pac vs MAy fight happened in 09-10 an beat Pac with ease, may would have surely have a serious case as one of the top 5.

Wow,1st Duran and Hearns alone are far superior to any fighter that Floyd has faced..Not to mention Hagler, who was a ko machine..Pac would have been brutality ko'd by any of the names mentioned..This is not a hard or close question to answer..

I think De La Hoya was more talented and probably overall better than Duran. Oscar was an Olympic gold medalist with ten world titles in 6 divisions. He also had a better chin than Hearns did. Floyd has beat quite a few great fighters and has more wins overall than Leonard did while having a better win streak at welterweight as well.

It's tough call but I'd favor Floyd by a slight margin due to having grater consistency and longevity.

I see Dela Hoya beating Duran because he is the naturally bigger man, and Dela Hoya is extremely talented, knows how to box, brawl and fight on the inside.

Hoya has never beat a top level opponent..I think it's a reach that he beats Duran..We all see what we see tho..

Floyd has a longer stretch of "names" but there's absolutely no one on Floyd's resume you can remotely compare to Duran, Hearns, Benitez at the time when Ray fought them let alone fighting Hagler after a 4 year hiatus, detached retina, no tune up, first fight at Middleweight.

I also hate playing triangle theories but put Ray in every single fight Floyd had from De La Hoya to retirement and put Floyd in w/ Benitez, Duran (twice) and Hearns in the span of 2 years. I can't see Floyd going undefeated in that span while I feel Ray would beat every fighter Floyd fought from 2007 to now. At the end of the day though fighters can't choose what era they fought in.

                  Sugar Ray easily...

                  quality > quantity

if Floyd took more risks then this conversation could be different
