Man SRL has wins over 3 top 20 fighters all time. His era of fighters gives him the nod. I will say this, quantity wise Floyd has more wins over solid Competitors but SRL has better wins. Quality over quantity as they say.

Understand that in sugar ray's time there were for the most part 2 world champions per wgt division (this of course lowers your chances for becoming world champion drastically compared to Floyd's time which there now are 4 champions per wgt division.) This without any shadow of doubt increases anyones chances of becoming champion. It also allows for one to pick & choose the most likely weakest title holder, for the sake of being crown.

A love Paul Williams but comparing him to Hearns? Lets not go there... Again i like Maidana but comparing him to Hagler (a middle wgt) the comparison would've been GGG & that ain't happening.

Marquez was a shorty that is not even a welterweight.

        Here are some of Floyd's good wins;
Baldimor - not on anyones HOF & or ATG list he had 9 loses by the time he fought Floyd

Gatti -a shot fighter with 5 loses already

Oscar-close fight (this is not the oscar that fought Trinidad,Mosley & Quartey.)

Mosley -already had 5 losers. Lost to Vernon Forrest 2x, Winky Wright 2x. Miguel Cotto.
The pount I'm making is that when sugar beat Benitez,Duran,Hearns, & Hagler none of those great fighters did not had a lost or a recent beatdown.

I am Sugar Ray Leonard! Respect me!
        Good post.

Floyd is one of the greatest of all time, but the best opponents he faced were faded.

He has no wins that were better than Ray's best wins.

        Ray has the better resume.

Oscar was a great win, but it was very close, and Oscar was faded.

He deliberately cheated Marquez on the scales to gain an advantage.

          Manny was faded and injured.

They can't compare to Ray stopping Hearns and beating Benitez etc.
Iran Barkley beat Hearns. He was a great fighter but had a weak chin. Oscar was harder to beat, so was Pacquiao and I don't believe Marquez was faded. They were both in tremendous shape for the fight. It's just my humble opinion. I could be wrong. All great fighters.

OSCAR IS HARDER TO BEAT THAN HEARNS WTF? PACQUIAO IS HARDER TO BEAT THAN HEARNS?

I'm a Pac fan, but saying that hearns is easier to beat is absolute Garbage.

And other than those 3 the rest of his resume is below Floyds overall .

People dont seem to look at the entire body of work and overall accomplishments, they look at a couple of great names and thats it, wayyyyyyyy more to a 20 yr resume than 3% of it .

Judging from that list I'd resolutely say Sugar Ray Leonard.

Not even close -- because Leonard has one of the best resumes in the history of boxing. Quality over quantity, as someone said.

I can't think of anyone with 4 more impressive wins than:

                  benitez
                  duran
                  hagler
                  hearns

Also note, three of these guys were NOT smaller than him. Only duran was a bit smaller. Some of Floyd's better wins are against markedly smaller dudes -- hatton, marquez, pacquaio.

Leonard...not only for who he faced, but who he faced in their absolute primes.
