Nobody should even care as long as there are fights that weekend.

First of all, Mayweather-McGregor isn't going to happen.

Beyond that, if we're even going to go into the hypothetical discussion, Mayweather-McGregor is a fight that can be sold to the English-speaking, casual sports fan, while Alvarez-ChavezJr is going to draw the vast majority of it's energy from the Mexican/Mexican American/Spanish-speaking audience that's undergirded boxing for most of the last 20 years.

Alvarez-ChavezJr moves the AT&T Stadium in Arlington (to a likely sellout crowd, and massive TV business in Mexico), while Mayweather-McGregor becomes a spectacle in Las Vegas (talking folks into the building, for a fight that McGregor simply doesn't have the boxing talent to win).
