Shouldn't be a problem at all. Canelo will have the killer instinct to finish Chavez Jr. by mid rounds.

This hopefully sets up Canelo if he wins for a showdown with the GGG vs Jacob's winner for September.

can't believe they squeezed an extra half pound from Chavez

"manny-weight" is now an official tactic used when negotiating every major fight

              thanks Pac

I told everyone that manny-weight was a nasty precedent

Not the fight anybody asked for but smart business move the ppv numbers for this fight vs whatever numbers GGG/Jacobs does will give GB way more leverage in negotiations with GGGs people. Sad thing is the GGG vs Jacobs is the better more competitive fight.

aaah right, so Canelo gave up half-a-pound, not Chavez.....

It was made official a short while ago, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) will face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KOs) on May 6th in a high-profile showdown of Mexican stars.
