Dempsey would be a journeyman in today's hw division, maybe even a bum.

He'd do about as well as Kovalev at HW, perhaps worse. Their dimensions are almost identical.

Kovalev's significantly more well schooled however.

He would be too small for cruiser. There are no cruisers who weigh 187 lbs on fight night. That's LHW.

Dempsey is a Middleweight by today's standards.

He's statistically Carl Froch. Height-reach and likely weight (Froch cuts weight).

Klitschko knows to jab jab grab. Wilder knows how to windmill punch and hurt himself because he throws with poor form.

What would they do again at a well schooled beast who maximizes his punching effectiveness through a deep understanding of drop steps, shoulder whirls and the power line?

These guys today don't even move their head. What are they going to do when they come up against a master of the craft who knows the ins and outs of the Hierarchy of Defense?

It's checkers vs chess if you ask me.

"Boxers are bigger, faster, stronger and wayyyyy better fundamentally than those previous to us"???.................

Really? Wilder and the Klitz bros are better technically than Joe Louis? You must be on drugs?
Secondly who compares to Sugar Ray Robinson in the skills department? Who is as mean and determined as he was?
Why is Sugar the most copied boxer of all time? Ezzard Charles Ali, Ray Leonard all tried to copy Robinson. I wonder why?

In the past boxing had multiple men who brought intrigue and substance to the ring, today there are very few great fighters.
Last night was a good competitive fight to watch, neither man made anything near what Pac & lil" Floyd made yet they put those to so-called "greats" to shame!
Being great today is mostly hype and it's sold to fans that rarely if ever attend a live boxing show. They have no reality as to what the sport is all about. Watching tv is not the way to watch boxing, the same can be said about all contact sports.
Watch hockey in person then on tv you'll be disappointed in the coverage!

Dempsey was outboxed comfortably by a 6ft 190lb 76in reach gene tunney.

Gene Tunney is an all-time great. No shame in that.

Tunney would box the brakes off of Klitschko or Tyson Fury.

What a load of hyperbolic nonsense.
