I heard this before every time someone tries to tell me how some B side opponent has leverage over canelo and it blows up in their face. I argued with people telling me Chavez was going to get more money because Canelo has no other options and all this crap about Chavez and his fairy tale leverage. And you know what he took the money and deal because Canelo is the A side the cash cow and offered him more then he can make fighting anyone else and if you turn down his deal he will just go to the next man on the list who is willing to take a career payday to fight him. Same will happen with Saunders. The fight won't go to purse bid and if it did Saunders is at the disadvantage. His promoters don't have the money to put up to beat the money Golden Boy can offer because they have big boy HBO PPV but lets say Saunder promoters put up some bluff offer for money they don't have then Canelo pulls out the purse bid just like Kovalev against Stevenson did and fights someone else and Saunders loses his payday.

If Golden Boy wins the purse bid and Saunders don't like the amount they are willing to pay him if he pulls out he loses his belt. So unlike against GGG he can't walk away Canelo is the mandatory he walks he gets stripped. We all know Saunders is only relevant because the belt without it nobody cares about fighting him. Canelo is the draw and cash cow regardless what belt he has or doesn't he's proven that. Saunders cried about horrible offer from cheapskate GGG so good luck turning down a payday from Canelo and thinking GGG can match that.

Is there a rematch clause that limits GGGs money in a potential rematch?

Is there "escape clause" language that lets Golden Boy pull out of the deal before September?

Is Golden Boy demanding a piece of GGG going forward?

The truth is you dont have the slightest fricking idea what land mines are in that deal. But your limited thinking ability simply says "oooooooo 15 millions better accept it doe derp derp derp"
And neither do you! So far I haven't heard GGG, his promoter complain about any of those details just that they want more money which they won't get. Until I hear different GGG is pricing himself out and as he does quite often building roadblocks and turning down fights. Let him continue wasting his career he's already on the wrong side of 30 with little to show for it and as you see here Canelo has no shortage of opponents who are willing to take career paydays for the fight. Let GGG keep hoping and begging someone for a fight he won't get a fraction of what Canelo offered him. Him haggling for months with Jacobs and missing the original HBO date so that both guys could split the money Chavez just signed for. K2 are a bunch of bumbling idiots. GGG would NOT be in the situation if he were signed with Haymon, Top Rank, Golden Boy or any other big time promoter.

Dude are you frickin serious? Are you really this ******?

Maybe you should read the WBO rules regarding purse bid splits.

        CHAMPIONSHIPS with an EXISTING CHAMPION

        (A) In fights for the Title between the Champion and the Mandatory Challenger held in the country of origin, residence or nationality of the Champion, the Champion shall receive 75% of the purse and the Challenger shall receive the remaining 25%.
        (B) In fights for the title held in any other country, the Champion shall receive 80% of the purse and the Challenger shall receive the remaining 20%.

Do you honestly believe for 1 second that Canelo would fight Saunders for 20% or 25% of the money while Saunders gets 75% or 80%, depending on where the fight is held?

My god you are dumber than a bag of hair

Are you literally this ******? Is your brain pudding?

Canelo came up with these ridiculous stipulations just to stall negotiations indefinitely. If he wanted the fight he wouldn't have dropped the belt and gone MIA.

There is no way you're too dumb to see this. You just have a crush on one of the fighters so you have to play dumb. Pathetic hobby you've got.

            164.5 bahahahahahahhaha what a joke

Golovkin who weighs less than Canelo is being asked to move up to 168, 175 full time.

Canelo, heavier than Golovkin, fights at 155 and 164.5, "he's makin history haters!" lmao
It's not a hobby, dude is unmistakably a GBP paid shill

Exactly! The problem isn't the offer Chavez took half the money for a fight that might do about the around same amount of PPVs at the end of the day. The difference is GGG and his fanboys think they are Floyd or Pac. Like he a ppv superstar. He's not Canelo's equal all the numbers prove it. If all he wanted was the fight he would of dropped a few pounds last year to get it but he didn't. And now that weight is settled still can't find a pen to sign a deal that pays him more then 3X his career payday. GGG will always be the B side if and when the fight happens and once he accepts that he will agree to Canelo's terms and the fight will happen. Until then Canelo is now 2-0 in taking GGG opponents, first Cotto, now Chavez, next will be Saunders if GGG still thinks he "too good" for 15m.

Do you think REGARDLESS what a purse bid amount that is won Canelo will be paid that amount split? The purse bid will determine what Saunders gets, Canelo has a contract with Golden Boy and isn't fighting for a penny less you idiot! Lemiuex vs Ndam went to purse bid after Ndamn turned down original offer given by golden boy to his own promoter. He wanted more money refused to sign so it went to purse bid his promoter didn't have the money to put on the show so didn't bid, Golden Boy bid the absolute lowest amount required, Ndamn got his split based on the purse bid which ended up being less then the original offer while Lemiuex contracted under golden boy got infinitely more money then the purse bid split required Golden Boy to pay their own fighter.

Golden Boy will bid the amount they are comfortable paying Saunders. And will then pay Canelo countless millions more on the side to keep their own fighter happy. Laughing at you thinking a purse bid has any power in negotiations over Canelo when GGG saw how that worked out. LMAO

                    • Canelo skipping past GGG clearly shows GBP is clearly in it only for the money. Squeezing everything they can out of Canelo and screwing what the fans want.

This can turn into a highly entertaining fight and I'll be one of those watching it, probably hoping Chavez can pull a miracle and make Canelo regret going only after the money.

With that said, this is also what makes boxing and almost pointless sport to watch if you value ladders, rankings, and champions, lol. This sport doesn't take any of that into considering. If it makes money, then it makes sense, and that's what decides the matchups. So many times, I just hate that aspect of boxing.
