Comments Thread For: Jacobs Has Decided to Let His 8-Year-Old Son Attend Golovkin Fight

By Keith Idec - NEW YORK Nathaniel Jacobs remained in the background Tuesday, seated with family members inside Madison Square Garden. His father, Daniel Jacobs, took center stage, where he was promoting his March 18 middleweight championship match against Gennady Golovkin. But come fight night, Jacobs' 8-year-old son will take a ringside seat, where he'll get an up-close, extremely personal look at an even more dangerous fight than usual for his dad...

The reaction of his son vs. Kid Chocolate. I expect another moment like this when Danny KO Golovkin.

This should be classed as child abuse. Little Jacob's is gonna see his daddy get rendered unconscious by a European. He will be scarred for life and grow up to be like larry x

I don't want to see the kid cry when GGG sparked that chin.

Abel was dumb to let GGG hang out with his opponent's cute little kid. You have to go punish this guy and probably knock him out for the greatest chance of success, but now you're seeing he has the cutest kid, he's such a humble guy, a nice family... that is not helpful at all to your success. Look what happened to Pacquiao after he got compassionate in the ring.

Damn that gif even got Quillin's mother I think getting poked in the face... crazy. Always feel bad for family members watching their son/brother/husband get knocked out live. Unless the boxer is a total *******, with an ******* family, I wish the TV networks wouldn't show that. Like obviously after everything Danny's dad has said, all the **** talking, even if he wasn't Danny's trainer, but he was at the fight, and Danny got knocked out, obviously they would have to show him, as part of the story line. Even though Angel Garcia has maybe matured the last year, and I hope he's a decent, good man, he's obviously at the very least played sort of the villain role in the past, so you would have to show his reaction, trainer or not, if you are a good TV producer, because fans would have interest in his reaction given what a role he's played in the sport and in the storyline.

But Quillin's mom and wife or whatever? That doesn't really seem necessary. Especially when they keep going back to like watch people cry and ****. Like okay document it for history, show the replay if you have to so people can see everything that went on clearly, but then don't keep doubling back and tripling back to check up on them crying more later...

There has to be a balance there.
