Got to be a distraction if your trainer isn't in there with you. You might not need your trainer if you are fighting a bum, but when you are fighting a top tier opponent, you want everything to be as comfortable as possible so you can focus on the task at hand.

Khan was doing just fine before Alvarez started closing the distance on him and Khan lost focus in the fight; the KO happened because 1)Alvarez had found Khan's timing and was starting to deliver damage and 2)Alvarez's jab to the chest had Khan so ****ed up that he abandoned his hands and left his chin clear.

Emphasis on Freddie getting fighters who were already world champions and simply polishing things (with Manny Pacquiao being the only world champion, to my knowledge, who he's been able to build into a new champion).

Floyd Sr was able to get Mickey Bey to a world title (while also seemingly having another gem prospect in Andrew Tabiti that he's bringing along), but folks also seem to forget the work that Sr did with rebuilding Oscar De La Hoya. You can't say that Oscar was pushed to fight anything like Floyd.
