I agree with the fact that Koval took his foot off the pedal and didn't pressure Ward they way he needed to. He looked sluggish at times and the "Krusher" BS just wasn't there. It was clearly his fight to win or loose and he didn't dominate!

As for Stevenson picking on Long Island Joe who's claim to fame was catching Fonfar cold and beating an old relic in Bernard thats not really a championship matchup.
Hopefully Joe fights the local challenger and leaves Ward, Koval and Stevenson alone! He is not on that level and hopefully his management and promotion do the right thing for the guy.

Andre S.O.G Ward exposed Kovalev's limited arsenal from close range -- what would Adonis 'Superman' Stevenson do to him in under the same conditions? when faced with great adversity only great men arise from such hardship the victor! -- Kovalev is mentally weak.

Adonis Stevenson is THE LINEAL champ kov was just gathering belts within the division. people talk all that "krusher" **** but this man has a more powerful punch than either kovalev ward or ANY other fighter in that division. stevensons LEFT hand is more powerful than kovalevs RIGHT hand EVER was. with that bein' said of course stevenson is right i had Ward winning the fight by a slim margin 7-5 couldve been a draw couldve went to kovalev. that time off that ward had has affected his ability he's not firing off on all cylinders like he was. if this was a 2011 ward at 175 he would've possibly ko'd kovalev but kov was still an average fighter then so ward wouldve beat him before he began to progress.stevenson seen what most of us seen kovalev won 3 out of the 1st five rounds and stole some in between & got washed in most of the later rounds but the rounds were not "definitive" enough thus why we get the scoring differences.

But Joe Smith toppled Stevenson's performance too. Fonfara ring a bell?

Mr Irrelevant speaks again....has done absolutely zero since winning the title years ago. Fought something called Tommy Karpency...and went the distance with an old smaller Sakio Bika - so much for that Ko power.

I can't knock Stevenson because Kovalev's trainer basically said the same thing:

              December 2, 2016:

One of the main adjustments John David Jackson wants to make before Sergey Kovalev fights Andre Ward a second time is to get Kovalev in better condition.

Kovalev’s trainer thought his fighter was in very good shape for their November 19 fight in Las Vegas. He acknowledged Ward was better conditioned, however, and that it made a difference late in a 12-round light heavyweight title fight Ward won by unanimous decision at T-Mobile Arena.

“I think all Sergey needs to do is be in better condition for the later rounds and go to Andre’s body a little bit more,” Jackson told BoxingScene.com. “In the early rounds he showed he was a superior fighter. Andre was able to survive and had a better second half of the fight. But I think that was more from his conditioning. So Sergey has to be in a little bit better condition, and I think this time he’ll dominate and knock him out.”

Mr Irrelevant's power is over-rated....couldn't Ko a old smaller Sakio Bika, and went the distance with Fonfara - who Smith iced in one Rd.

Obviously Stevenson prefers to fight Ward. Less dangerous. Worst case scenario he will be hugged to UD loss. With Kovalev it could get pretty painful a-la Pascal.
